How far away from harvest are they

Hi everyone
I'm an inexperienced grower, grew a few auto ganga dwarf plants about 10 years back. Grew ok but awful smoke. Same summer planted Early misty regular not fem. They grew ok and went to seed. A lovely smoke and kept the seeds till next summer. Grew quite a few then and kept seeds. Lovely smoke again.
Never tried again for 3 years and seeds had gone bad. Never knew I should have kept them in the fridge.
Started again this year. Bought 12 seeds regular. Can't remember exact name but related to white widow. Planted 6 no show. Weather wasn't warm enough. Couldn't start them indoors as I live in England and visit South West france regularly and that's where I grow. Planted the next 6 start July, all came up. 5 survived, 3 have now withered, males, leaves me with 2 nice females. I will attach pics. I am here for a few more days then travelling. Can return in a month. Will they be fine then?
Looking forward to a nice smoke and having seeds again.

After a few days I saw one of them had some rot. Damp climate, too much rain. So I brought them both indoors, soil in the pots very wet. Left them there till I return. Pulled the brown bud off and dried it in the microwave. Smoked a bit of it, very nice. I'm hoping the plants and buds will be dry on my return.

The problem with inoculating your lungs with spores is they wait until you are already sick then they cause their problems. Last thing you really want when you are ill is a fungal infection starting in your lungs.

I'm going back there in 2 weeks time. Plants indoors with no one there so don't know what I'll find. Hopefully no rot.

I was under impression its the mycotoxins you avoid but spores are always in air and end up in weed. To some degree but when a near by outbreak happens you inhale much more than otherwise would. Tons of it gets burned when smoking/vaping.

So if you got an infection whos to say it wasnt there already from other ways other than smoking/vaping weed with spores in it. Would love to hear your thoughts I know you know a lot about medical.

I guess thats not really a question more my way of seeing it. Ive read the nastiest you could read about it. A good glimpse of whatcan happen but I guess the answer I was looking for is, is it about chance and reducing them and that we shouldnt be smoking/vaping it at all.

I gots the botritus for no good reason other than fat nugs never thought it would happen again. If to toss the whole thing but I made up my mind already. I didnt know all this till I grew and they do use pesticides and doing the same practice likely so Im still doing a favor. Ive realized not to give it to others its your own stuff and risk. Just the nasty side of the weed world.

Next time I'm over I'll take some pics of the 2 plants, hopefully some will be smokeable. Only one plant had it, a part of the top bud cluster about the size of half a small grape.

Next spring I will order early misty seeds. When I grew them no sign of rot. I will have to set up a small grow room for this type, give them 2 months outside then bring them in and put them on 12/12 so they never see the autumn.

People usually quick to say not to bring plants in from outside. We do it with houseplants but ya. Ive never had thrips spider mites etc but I do have a war with gnats. Anyway Id hate to have another war to fight if something as simple as a gnat can become this bug a pain, all over again with another pest.

I do hear people suggest doing autos outdoors though.

shit i’m in the same boat, most of my plants had rot on buds as well as the stems ,I cut out all the infected buds, salvaged what I can but now i’m paranoid lol. didn’t do a budwash, and some had rot for a couple days before getting chopped…I smoked some for the past couple days and they seem super smooth, not much coughing but still….they look fine under the scope, found some webbing but it looks like it’s trichomes sticking and seperating/spider webs..idk if i should just bin it now or make edibles or what …@curious2garden how long do spores stay in the lungs for? I can’t see them staying there for too long, but i’m not a dr…i’ve been smoking for the past 14 years constant, been picking up from the BM for more than half that, i would assume i smoked mold before..never had bronchitis/pneumonia but still ..also smoked while having covid, not saying you should..i’m assuming it’s case by case..people with underlying issues, but once again i’m not a dr so this is all speculation

I've never grown inside. I brought these 2 in because didn't know what else to do. I'm only there one week a month so at the mercy of the weather. I have a drip feeder I bought a while back, haven't used it yet. Has a rechargeable battery, was planning to have it outside but will order another one for the loft. It'll push me to make the room up there. I have the materials. But need to get a lamp and fan suitable for a 4 x 4 room. Will be big enough for me if I learn the game.

If its super dank clean you truely fumbled them open all over and harvest the whole thing under a grow light, de nug, wet trim and dry herb shelf and watch it daily as it dries. Luckily thats my harvest process anyway.

Some dust plume tests cracking nugs open. Thats what Im doin. Turning all to sweet sweet nectar. Flower rosin. Chopping tomorrow. Id do the same thing outdoors just on sterioids if climate sucks.

what is the consensus on edibles with questionable moldy flower? I assume the GI tract does a better job dealing with mycotoxins/spores than the lungs..also i would assume cooking would kill some off..was also curious about using EVOO as a fat source as it’s a proven antimicrobial/fungal..maybe it’s time to give my lungs a break….
