How do you hang your DIY Cob Leds?

Hey guys,

Wondering how you all hang your cob setups? My fans (arctic 11 plus) have 4 holes on each corner so I've strung wire through but it's hard to get them level and it looks like crap.

What have you all done?

Chain and eyehooks. Easy to get nice and level, doesn't look too bad. Use some aluminum C-channel or angle stock to connect multiple CPU coolers together. Cleans everything up a bit. C-channel makes running wire a bit more convenient.

I drill and tap, but you could get away with self tappers or rivets.

Chain is the easiest IMO.

I make Y hangers (upside-down Y) out of 1/16" uncoated stainless steel cable and aluminum ferrules..

Knowing I was going to be building a more permanent holder I bought L brackets for shelving. I then simply mounted the L bracket on a pan and placed a zip tie through the screw holes in the bracket and through the plastic fan cover (secured to the heatsink). I was a little nervous at first because it sounds a little jank, however it held up well for my entire grow and I now can easily dismantle and build a more solid holder if I wanted to. I was able to place the drivers and wiring on the top of the pan (lights mounted to bottom) and then I got eyehooks and thin metal wire and secured it to a metal shelf in the closet. I had issues with everything not being level and each heatsink pointing in a different direction, the solid mounting surface is what fixed it for me. I was then able to string the pan up and arrange the drivers on the top of the pan to distribute the weight and make sure all lights were pointing down and I didn't have any tilting of my lights.

Here is a pic, I just pulled it out of the box since I am packing so it doesn't look as pretty as usual lol On the other side of the pan is where I have the drivers at as well as all of the extra wire.

Not as nice as some of the builds on here, but for ~$10 in parts from the local Walmart I can't complain.

You can mount them on just about anything! I would attach them to something rigid though and then hang off of whatever you attached them to. I think its good to show pictures of build that are not as pro as some people have made, don't get me wrong, I love some of the builds that look professional, but the simple DIY as shown above demonstrates that these things should be accessible to anyone.

IMO more important than being level is being adjustable. Especially if you have uneven canopy and either way it could be helpful to have the outermost slightly angled.

#14 (16 pound WLL) jack chain is pretty heavy duty and allows you to adjust in 6 axis (#16 -10 pound WLL pictured) You can change the length with pliers and then make quick adjustments

I used mechanics wire, bent in a 90* with ends bent to fit through the fan holes. It's easy to tweak them to level if they hand crooked. Then small chain for height adjustment.

Anywhere I can buy whole frame for my 4 cob...
Like timber light have their original frame and looking good but I cant order it here in eu crazy delivery money...
Any other site ???
Even ebay dont have anything when I search diy cob hang frame
