How do you handle BHO?

I whipped up some alright BHO for my second time today, and I just don't know how to handle this shit. I used the razor blade to scrape it all together, but from having a bunch built up on the razor to storage to putting it in the bowl I'm completely lost. Is there a basic tool I should have thought of using by now? or does everyone just get better with handling it over time? Right now I'm using a nail to scrape it of the razor and I put in the top of jar and just leave the jar upside down to store, but when loading into a bowl I just can't get that little drop to fall into the bowl it just sticks, I'm going to get a vapor dome pretty soon, but since I'm using mainly vape dregs its not super bomb oil so I don't feel that I need to hit just the pure oil.

Thanks for any advice,
J

freeze it and work with it as a solid. just "freeze" your fingers before you touch it or you're in for a mess.

Depends really, my man. A lot of people I know use dental tools. They're the best for scraping and setting up yourself a dab of oil. I however use a simple sewing needle, seems to work fine for me for taking dabs and making the BHO.

As for handling... I make all of my oil stable except for my ISO oil. I have no control over ISO evaporation, only time does. So all of my BHO and budders/ earwaxes can all be picked up and pulled apart. Purge your BHO oil better to be able to handle it, or put it straight into the freezer from a molten state. That usually turns your oil into shatter and it's somewhat like a last ditch effort to stabilize your oil (at least long enough to handle it). I've made clear honey stable to touch by turning it to shatter. However it was a tad harsh because it wasn't as refined (short purge).

Use a different technique or change up your own. Try a different way of purging; like a double boil, heat pad, vacuum purge, etc... even then, make sure the product your making BHO out of, is somewhat decent. If your running trim or hoompty shake through tane, you're most likely to end up with runny, non stable oil.

As for handling your oil... swirl some up on the end of your dental tool and or needle. If you're using a vapor globe or TI swing, just touch the dab against it as is. If you're putting it on top of a bowl, do the same thing but put a little heat to the oil dab so it liquefies and falls onto the bowl. When scraping up the oil after making it, the more razors and needles the better... what I mean is... if you scrape all of your oil onto a razor, use another to scrape it all off. If one razor has oil scraped stretching along it's entire blade... use another one to scrape it all off and it'll form a smaller surface area. Then use a needle to separate the oil glob from the razor.

Hope that helped...

Thanks a lot man, that helps actually ton, I only come across oils or even hash about once twice a year tops, unless I'm making it myself, so I don't have really any good experience with them yet nor does any of my fellow tokers. So far, I've found BHO to be pretty simple actually just make sure your outside when doing it and no flames around, with all the caution books put towards it made me fairly apprehensive to trying the technique. And damn, I really want to find a constant supplier of some nice concentrates now, because even this shitty vaped bud oil fucks me up more then these hash muffins I've had the past few weeks :D

What I normally do is scrape sections of the pan at a time, and change razor blades frequently. They get dull faster than you think, and a fresh blade always makes scraping it way easier.
I normally put it in vials, so I scrape up a bunch of oil... take it on the end of a paperclip or whatever.... and then drip it into the vials.

Takes a few tries to get the hang of it, but I don't normally make a mess and my waste is very minimal.
