Depends really, my man. A lot of people I know use dental tools. They're the best for scraping and setting up yourself a dab of oil. I however use a simple sewing needle, seems to work fine for me for taking dabs and making the BHO.
As for handling... I make all of my oil stable except for my ISO oil. I have no control over ISO evaporation, only time does. So all of my BHO and budders/ earwaxes can all be picked up and pulled apart. Purge your BHO oil better to be able to handle it, or put it straight into the freezer from a molten state. That usually turns your oil into shatter and it's somewhat like a last ditch effort to stabilize your oil (at least long enough to handle it). I've made clear honey stable to touch by turning it to shatter. However it was a tad harsh because it wasn't as refined (short purge).
Use a different technique or change up your own. Try a different way of purging; like a double boil, heat pad, vacuum purge, etc... even then, make sure the product your making BHO out of, is somewhat decent. If your running trim or hoompty shake through tane, you're most likely to end up with runny, non stable oil.
As for handling your oil... swirl some up on the end of your dental tool and or needle. If you're using a vapor globe or TI swing, just touch the dab against it as is. If you're putting it on top of a bowl, do the same thing but put a little heat to the oil dab so it liquefies and falls onto the bowl. When scraping up the oil after making it, the more razors and needles the better... what I mean is... if you scrape all of your oil onto a razor, use another to scrape it all off. If one razor has oil scraped stretching along it's entire blade... use another one to scrape it all off and it'll form a smaller surface area. Then use a needle to separate the oil glob from the razor.
Hope that helped...
