How do people get buds that cover the entire stem?

what do you mean covering the whole stem? you posted a pic of drying buds and a plant. dried bud is way smaller, as far as getting the node legnths closer use a mh or 5k-6.5k spectrum of lighting in veg and the plant wont strech, keep the light at an optimal distance, hps and flowering causes streching. strain type depends on this to

Like there is quite a lot of buds but each bud is about 2-3 cm/smaller the only 2 huge ones are from the top one is from the main stem and one is from another one that is big and thick as the main stem, each stem is filled with many flowers but I've seen grows where from each stem for example the flowers grow covering the whole stem but mine one 1 stem there's like 5 flowers and they don't cover the stem and still visible.

The basics need attention; good nutrients at the right levels, environment under control, good air circulation, good genetics and good lighting.

Good lighting may be your problem, lots of people don't know how much light it takes to grow really good nug; commercial grow operations generally run around 55-65 W/ft² of HPS lighting or a combination of HPS and MH. Light is energy to a plant and without enough, it can't bulk up.

I think you're referring to internode spacing. When conditions are ideal, you'll often get very little space between each node, and when each nugget is very close to the next you get the illusion of non-stop bud up the stem. Conversely, if conditions aren't ideal your plants will tend to stretch and create too much space between the nodes, and you'll get you'll get less flowers per branch. And as vro said, dried and trimmed weed is going to look much different than a live plant with wet bud...

you have to have youre 1000 watts light about 3 inches off the tops on the canopie to lower the node interspacing and then you have to growing the dankest which is og18 or something its like 34 percentage thc and then you will get calyxys that glisten all over the bud and run up the fanning leaves aswell.

Im posting this every where lol, one of my first little cfl grows indoors. I thought pics like this were all gone. Pulled about a lb, some went 24-26 weeks

Sativa is the answer to your question. Few feet long baseball bats of dank. Careful not to let em stretch and wind up with a sativa staircase.. if your feeling crazy yu can top em once the finished structure seems to be setting, just nick the top of the cola and they will swell. I do this to some of my longer flowering +20 weekers to prevent massive totem poles and a more manageable 3 footer that can be 8in diameter. Bud rot is an issue, citrusy and cheese strains are best for this
