how do i grow "regular" seeds

that was awsome thanks man i like that idea about labeling them matching the plant they came off of than tossing the clones that came off the male. are there signs a male will show before even showing sex?
its said that males are taller, quite often sadly the best looking plants in veg will be males
there is no way to know for sure that its male until it shows preflowers
i have seen preflowers from 4 weeks onward, although it could take longer to show
you will find these preflowers during the veg cycle if you look very closely

when you switch to 12/12 you should be able to spot most of the males in 3 days or so with a few coming out a little later
this is before any of the females show any signs at all, the females will not normally show pistils until 5-7 days or longer after the 12/12
you will have to get in close to spot the sex early on , the preflowers are very tiny

Even under 24 hrs. of light the plants will show preflowers around week 5 or 6. Learning to identify these are a fundamental early step in becoming a good grower. There is a ton of literature on the topic. I recommend that you devour everything that you can by Jorge Cervantes. It takes both time and effort to become skilled at anything. Keep growing, learn from your mistakes, and study as if you're going to be graded on your work... because you are.

i never get burn but i do get deficiencies mid flower i use organic based nutes so i figure thats the reason. im not a good troubleshooter i know what nitrogen def looks like and mag def but i get stumped on the rest lol!(why im switching to super soil) my plants arent in a super controlled environment temp fluctuates often i use home central ac/heat to try and keep temps down or up it doesnt work best but am looking into controllers,ac,heater i have stood in the room with lights off and didnt see leaks but there is a smoke detector light but its green so i figure its not an issue.
Well, that could be your problem...
True hermaphrodites are rare, and most of the time when a plant herms, it's grower error. Especially with the numbers you're getting.

the headband i bought is "sour kush-aka headband" i wanted a kush (not sure if this is a real kush or not.. dont know what really makes a plant "kush")
but i liked the overview they had

i hope you get your issues figured out. if i were you id stick to fem seeds and just improve your grow skills.
you will get it down :)

I agree, its stress not the seeds.

In terms of stress that would induce herms I would say:

1. agressive pruning
2. too hot
3. Nutrients too strong
4. light leaks

people stress light leaks too much. Maybe because its an convienant way to not blame yourself for lacking grow skills? I have left the overhead light on many a grow and not had herms. I have kept in completely dark and had herms. (becuase of overly agressive lolipopping).

smoke dector light not a problem. MY dehu and main controller all have green lights.

i agree that light leaks are very overstated, but i also believe in general
it takes a large amount of stress to otherwise cause good genetics to hermi

i have practiced many types of pruning and severe types of defoliation and never seen a hermi
heat stress i have seen colas that are very close to a light source develop male flowers
also lower branches that often are shaded will mature early and produce seeds

plants coming out as full hermies by week 2-3 of flower , the amount of stress needed to cause this change i cant imagine
it's very plausible in some cases that the genetics are faulty , its much easier to blame the grower though
when you call out genetics you get a ton of fanyboys after you lol

so ive got growing from seed down but only female i want to switch to regular because im tired if hermies i put a ton of time and money into my grows only to notice hermied plants it may be one ,may be two but sometimes i miss it and it ruins my crop :(. i know regulars can do it too but not on the level of female seeds. so how do i start with regs do i grow 10 if im looking for 5 females? when do they show sex? do i flower to see sex than revert to veg? does that stress them? when do i take clones after flower or before flower? this is in newbie central because i consider myself a newb because i still dont know where to start with reg seeds or cloning sexing or creating my own strains or even mother/father selection i get the idea just dont know the details. if you have the time and knowledge i would very much appreciate it!

Thanks,bongsmilie........................:D

As for breeding seeds/creating strains, just make sure you choose a good phenotype and make sure the male has super strong genetics, also just know you cant just pollinate and expect dank , its a lot of work sometimes you have to backcross it and then pollinate again with a stronger female.

I totally agree on many points. And reserva prada genetics suck donkey dick I'm my book.
i don't know if i can say that about any company/breeder without trying a fair few of their strains/crosses
with reserva prada i have only grown 1 cross

i hear bad things about GHS , riot seeds ,tga, dutch passion, barneys farm on most forums
i would still possibly grow a strain of theirs if it really took my fancy
many strains/crosses on offer show a fair amount of phenotype diversity it all seems like a lottery to me
but i do take on board all the negative comments folk make, its hard not to
i guess it does put me off those breeders/pollen chuckers to some degree

if i grow enough plants finding one or two worth keeping for a while is likely, that is all i really aim for
as i wont keep them for long before i get bored and look for another

so a good breeder would be one where say in a pack of 10 you will find a good phenotype on average and a bad breeder maybe 30 seeds to find one on average?

Pretty much.. and why I don't spend any money on seeds anymore.

i would love to get a nice OGRaskal pheno but people have said it can take 20 seeds to get one keeper. Who has time for all that bullshit not to mention the $250 for those 20 seeds.

If weed buyers were more discerning in portland maybe.. but they all just want the cheapest shit you have.
