How do i get my bud to look like this...... w/pics

Ok so the one on the left is my bud that i have grown and tried drying. the one on the right is bought.

i cant figure out how to get the bud on the left so packed together. Mine just stays fluffy.
There has to be another step in the drying/curing proccess that packs the bud together to make it more dense or am i just crazy lol
anyone have any ideas?

Ive not reached the drying & curing stage yet but by the looks of your bud you havnt trimmed off the leaves maybe thats the issue.

most commercial chron is outdoor which is much more dense due to the high intensity light of the sun.. you can never match the density of an outdoor plant indoors.. strain can be part of the issue as well.

yeah dude you need to learn some better trimming skills

cant even see your bud cause its covered in leaves

and if you want tighter buds add more light and co2

I find it easy to get bud looking like that. Try cutting the buds up a bit away from the stalk so that u have little nugs, remove all that leaf as well. Then when u put them into jars fill them three quarters full and tumble the buds each day. I find that the light weight of the buds pressing down on each other gradually compresses them givin you nice hard little nugs.

You have my intrest. First time grower here about ready to harvest. Maybe helpful if others post here how thier buds grown indoor look and how they dried them. Good Luck!

First of all you need the correct strain to produce that exact same type of bud.

2. You have purple.. how the hell is it gona look like that bud to the right... ?



Get the correct strain, and it will look like that. ohh * edit * take of those leafs.. prob looks 10x better :D

what is the smoke like. thats what really matters, although good looking bud is always a bonus. but if it fucks you up you cant complain

The smoke is fine, it gets you FUCKED UP. i have had all my friends over also to smoke and all of them say its really good. Taste like regular bud, nothing special.
THC Strain.
I'm not trying to get it the same color, i just want it tight and packed together. Those nugs to the right of it are so tight its crazy and mine are all fluffy. Which is why i asked. how the hell do they do it. My friends dad also grew his own shit and it turned out fluffy as well. but all the commerical bud we buy it all so tight. Leaves me wondering thats all. Either way its a great high. and regular taste.

if your buds are coming off too loose for you then just bump up your lights...
add some cfls to the sides so the lower branches get more light.

depends on the strain once again... might be a fluffy strain, what is your strain that u grew.. compare notes...

get a strain, which ppl can tell u.. yes this is rock solid.. like the white rhino.. or so.

what kind of lighting are you using? wattage?

My Strain is - THC Bomb and my friends dads strain was White Widow. both ended up fluffy

The lighting i was using is
HPS 1000w for flowering 12/12
Grown in a hydroponics
been flowering since 12/09/08
and cut it - 02/08/09
2 weeks of regular water and flushing.
2days of drying upside down in a dark place with a gental breeze over them
and then i put them in a air tight jar.

how many plants did you have?
how big was the area?
what nutes did you use?

White widow isnt realy a rock solid strain is it.... ?

where do u come from if i may ask you... ?

The longer you cure for the better.
Some strains are much denser than others.
Trim the bigger leaves of properly.
Street weed is often vaccum packed whilst damp to maintain weight without rot.
This squashes the buds and when they are properly dried they appear harder:leaf:
