I have been spraying my plants with this horsetail tea for about 2 weeks every 2 days and my plants are still worse now then they were 2 weeks ago.

I did exactly what this thread said to. 1 ounce makes a gallon. 20 drops liquid dishsoap.
I drench my plants in it.

ITS NOT WORKING :(
hhmmmmm....weird, are you using the powder?...

What are your room conditions? Do you run a dehumidifer and do u pull outside air into your room? Temps humidity level?

Yep I'm using the powder. Frontier brand bought on amazon.

Room conditions. I dont even know. I had to move my plants to someone else's house. Its definitely warm. There's no temp/rh meter. And no dehumidifier. And I was made to put the exhaust on only wile the lights on cause it kept them up at night.

I cant really do anything about the crappy conditions but I thought this stuff would work better. I spray them then they dry and look exactly the same. I thought it wouldn't be there after spraying them.

even with the best preventative sprays, those unfavorable conditions are going to work against you. they May have moldy or mildewey conditionsattheirresidence. good luck with that

well if the other place didnt have PM, it does now...

Its all about your room conditions man... You got be able to monitor them and keep them straight. Its the BIGGEST mistake new growers make is not getting the environment right.

Like Noximus said, you cant expect even the best spray to win the war on PM, when your fighting on the PM's behalf by ignoring your room conditions.

Not trying to be negative at all, just tryin to help a fellow Nerd out :-)

Oh the other place had pm already.
Theres no other plants there though just mine. His tent was empty and had been for a long time.

I know the conditions suck but I can't do anything about it.
Im just trying to finish the last few weeks and the next round will be at home again with monitered conditions.
My actual room has ac, a dehumidifier, fans, and exhaust.

I still thought this stuff would work better though.
Its not killing any pm. I spay and then they dry and all the pm is still there.

I would be happy if it at least killed/washed off the pm so its clean after it dries. So that every 2 days I can atleast clean it off.
But that's not the case cause its still there after I spray and worse 2 days later when I come to spray again.

At best all it is doing is slowing it down.

I'm gonna try frenchy's recommendation of dyna-mite and hopefully get control of this crap.

There is also a product in the hydro-stores that is called PM Wash that you could try, sort of similar description as the dyna-mite. It is advertised to get rid of PM and you can spray it up till harvest, I used it once when I first started growing and it seemed to work well. But as Oriah stated, only knowing your current conditions will allow you to fight it effectively. Also, in case you haven't, up your air circulation in the tent as much as possible, some good deals on fans at the stores currently since summer's here... Good Luck!

Ok I stopped spraying with the horsetail tea and its way worse after 4 days of not spraying. So it was definitely helping slow it down just not kill it completely.

IT WAS WORKING :)

So ill still be using the horsetail tea as a preventative in the future.

But I gotta use something more drastic to get control of this crap now.

did you try lemon juice?

You can wash your buds in peroxide (organic food grade available at health food store) I have done it once on an outdoor plant and it worked really well but I made hash with it afterward anyway. Look up Jorge cervantes and pm peroxide or something on youtube.

I am not sure whether I would do it again or not but I have not had any pm issues for about 9months... now that I have better control over my environment, I hope I will not get it again, but for me it's going to be lemon juice first, then if that doesnt work I will do horsetail but lemon juice worked for me in the past, I applied it a few time but it might have worked with the first time only, it was very early into budding and I had no signs of pm until the end. I improved airflow at the same time I applied the lemon juice too so that might be it :eyesmoke:

So I joined the PM club today... fuck. First time its happened for me so going to try to get my hands on the powder and the Dyna-mite Frenchy suggested.

I was also wondering if Horsetail would help with bud rot/ bothritis ? Has anyone tried it , maybe as a preventative ?
I'm growing outdoor and so far used Zero Tolerance , Serenade , and Oxidate with mixed results .

What's up Nerds?

I've been away from RIU for a while but some pesky PM has brought me back looking for answers. I'm doing OK controlling the problem with Green Cure, but this Horsetail sounds very intriguing. No one likes shriveled pistils...

So... Those of you who have used this, how is it doing? Do you continue to spray every few days after the initial treatment? Have any of you had PM pop up again after treatment (other than the poor fellow with the environmental issues)?

Thanks, guys.

Works great for me, I keep up a weekly regimen of horsetail application, and every two weeks I add some green cure and neem (for plants that are vegging). Seems to be working well so far, just keep strong air circulation with the horsetail and you should be fine. You might want to go with a high concentration of the spray for the first few applications since you have an active infection. Good luck!

Thanks, Snap1234.

Any other success (or failure) stories for Horsetail tea?

I went ahead and ordered some (same stuff as in Nugbuckets' pic). Hopefully it does the trick!

I am 100% pm free now. I spray flowering plants 2 times per week and veg plants once a week. I add a little nitrozyme for my one a week spray. Great results.

Don't forget to add a little mild dish soap or some other type of wetting agent to your spray ready solution. I spray about a half hour before lights come on and I make sure I have plenty of ventilation.

Hey everybody,
I just wanted to share a solution to PM that is quite simple, super cheap and available everywhere, a tip given by some very experienced outdoors growers.
CRANBERRY JUICE, it works magic.
All the best

Frenchy - Curious about this method, any more info? Does it need to be diluted? Can it be cranberry cocktail etc? Thanks for the heads up, peace.
