Also,i will buy vortix 4'' exhaust vent 172 cfm ,80 watt ,2500 rpm.is it ok for homebox xl?
i may connect vortex to a cool tube if i can find a cheap cooltube,i dont know..

I can help you out a little. First things first. Depending on how much your growing of course you might need more then 400w HPS. I'm pretty sure with a XL a 400w HPS is not going to be enough light for as much as your wanting to grow. Second is you NEED a cool tube. They aren't expensive and if you make your own carbon filter you will have alot of extra cash left over.

What are you doing for medium ? Hydroponic/soil/ect ?

i will do soil.also, i will do my carbon filter (i love this forum ) .
but you should know that, there are 2 different kind of homebox XL.
142 cm X 142 cm X 200 cm for USA.and 120cm X 120cm X 200 cm for EUROPA.

I will buy 120cm x 120cm X 200cm (europa version ) .you say still 400 w hps is not enough for that ?

and my plan and design is correct ?i will put extra 12 cm pc fans my homebox to circulate inside the air .

is there needed extra fans or something that ?

You may want to look into hydroponic systems as you can save some $ and its easier and in my opinion better in the homeboxes. Up to you of course though. Check out this page, mainly the DWC link on it https://www.rollitup.org/view.php?pg=faq&cmd=category&id=58 .

Yes I know that they have two different sizes for the XL but your still going to want to look into more then just a 400w HPS. Like I said though it depends how many plants your going to grow in there and how your going to grow them.

Yes your plan is rite though.

As for you question on venting inside its not 100% needed but you may want to opt for hanging a small house fan or desk fan from the homebox instead of putting PC fans in it.

http://www.homebox.net/dhtml/faq.php

under the third drop down about lighting the site says

"In general, the perfect light system is determined by the use you need the Homebox/Clonebox for. If you want to use it for cuttings, then it’s best to use a low wattage T5- or T8-System or CFL´s.
If you use it for light intensive growing and fruiting phases, we suggest using HPS-/HQI-systems.
Even though there is not really a maximum wattage for the different Homeboxes/the Clonebox, we still feel there is a limit in efficiency. Also, the more wattage you use, the more heat is emitted, which leads to the need for a bigger ventilation system. Have a look at the different product description pages, where we list the recommended equipment.
Here is a little summary as a rough guideline:
Homebox XS: 200W CFL / 250W HPS
Homebox S: 250W HPS / 2x 125W CFL
Homebox L: 400W HPS / 2x 200W CFL
Homebox XL: 600W HPS
Homebox XXL: 2x600W HPS
Clonebox: either you use T5/T8 systems for each shelf, if using it for cuttings/stock plants, or you can use it without the shelves, and put one 250W HPS / 2x 200W CFL into it, for light intensive growing and fruiting phases."

That being said. if your looking to have a nice size grow I would do at LEAST a 600w HPS and I would RECOMMEND a 1000w HPS.

ok mate,
but if i buy 600w hps,4'' vortic will be still enough for exhaust ?

as for hydro, i am very very newbie for growing indoor .i dont know anything about that. So, hydro is too complicated and i think it is not for begiiners.

I'm fairly sure that you should be fine.

Hydro is actually very easy, just as easy if not easier then soil. The only hard part by a long shot would be building the hydro box. With hydro it is easier for beginners to tell if the root systems are healthy and easy for newbs to add nutes and not over water. You have to set PH and everything just like soil its no different. Plus you don't have to worry as much about bugs/and transplanting. If you use soil essentually your going to have to dig up your plant and replant it in aother soil medium and that can be very hard to do and risky aswell. Just make sure you educate yourself before you get your mind set is all I'm saying really. You dont want to cripple yourself from haveing something better :weed: :joint::shock:

i think hydro is used with wooden box (i saw many pipes under the wooden boxes when i searched hydro systems)
how it will be possible with homebox?

Dont do hydro...Use Promix or SUnshine mix #4, use at LEAST a 600w in cooltube, a 1000w would be better. 1000w in cooltube, 4" carbonfilter, and a 4" HO vortex fan will be perfect. You will need extra cheap fans for airflow, and exhaust the heat outside a window if you can.

I run homebox XXL, works amazing.

Can you give us reasons why he shouldn't do hydro?

Better product, easier to manage, especially for a new grower. Cleaning your res in a tent is a fucking bitch. Cant use as much space. Higher risk of pathogens with people who have no experience with hydro.....

Potential for fatter, stickier buds that cant be replicated in Hydro.

As you know weed grows in layers from the inside out. The time between waterings determines how these layers form. With hydro. your packing on lots of layers with lots of waterings daily. With soil/soiless grows, you can go 3-4 days between a waterings, the layers take longer to form, increase resin production to protect plants from drying out.

Im not dissin hydro, hydro grows fast, smooth smoke when done right. But I like that bite of a good Chronic grown in soil/pete, and I LOVE big, sticky, juicy buds.

And theres lesss shit to go wrong, less to manage, and you can seperate your water and electrical, which is just safer.

men,i am glad to talk with you.
i have learned many things.
for beginning,i will make soil.hydro would may possible in future.
And , i need to detailed explanation how long time 7/24 ligths should be opened for vegging? ..how frequency plants should be watered ? etc...

i looked '' https://www.rollitup.org/view.php?pg=faq '' . it is very useful document but i cant understand some key points because my english is not so good.
i need a document with pictures..
thank you all again and again.

I will try to be as clear as possible.

Vegging Lighting 18 hours on / 6 hours off

Flowering Lighting 12 on / 12 off

For Soil use 'Sunshine Mix #4' Or 'Promix HP'

1-3 Gallon pots. I prefer 3 gallon.

You dont want to water to much. You want to wait till the soil gets Dry, when if Feels Dry, then you water.

Start out with a basic 3 part nutrient system Micro, Grow, Boom.

Advanced Nutrients and General Hydroponics are the most common.

You can use additives, but you should probably wait until flowering to try that.

Homebox XXL Grow This is my Homebox XXL grow, check it out theres lots of pics.

If you have more questions feel free to ask

i will use them but when ?
when should i use grow ? when should i use boom ? and when should i use micro ?
or i should use all of them together ?

sorry again but which additives i should use ?

may be my questions is really stupid or they may be already asked a billion times before, but i cant understand everything that i have read because my english is not so good.

Vegging can be done as long as you want. When they are as big as you want, then switch to flower.

Flowering takes 8-12 weeks Depends on the Strain

https://www.rollitup.org/newbie-central/936-when-harvest.html

That has great info and pics on when to harvest.

Start with basic 3 part Grow, Micro, Bloom. They are All used Together at the same time. There is a chart on the bottle that has the mixing instructions.

My favorite, most common additives for flowering with 'Advanced Nutrients' are,
'CarboLoad', 'Big Bud', 'Sensizyme' then for the end of flowering 'Overdrive', and 'Final Faze'.

I use Advance Nutrients with a lot of additives, maybe someone else could suggest a simple 1 part nutrient program for a beginner?

Cool tube and air cooled hoods are both air cooled hoods. Just different styles. Cool tube is a glass tube, and air cooled hoods are usually bigger, made of aluminum, but do the same thing.

You do not need an active intake. If you have an exhaust fan it will create enough pressure for passive intake.

Cooltube has less airflow restrictions, and will work better if your using it with a carbon filter and 1 fan.

So I would use a cooltube for your tent.

For watering plants. Always water in the day, I prefer after the lights have been on for at least an hour so the plants are active.

If you use Promix or Sunshinemix soiless then you dont want to water on a schedule, you only want to water when the soil feels dry. If you stick your finger in the dirt and its moist, then wait another day to water.
