You claim to know so much but you wont do a test.
correct i dont have time to mess with lightbulbs

You dont want to hear about my results.
you need to provide results if you'd like my opinion

I like these bulbs because I can set up a area for under 20 bucks an a quick trip to Walmart. It isnt ment to be max performance diy LEDs. Its ment to be a simple solution that's very low cost, that anyone can do.
correct. with pretty much any bulb off the shelf at walmart or home depot north of 100 lm/W

if theres a difference do some tests and show us. Not gonna take your word for it in absence of any actual test data, sorry. if you understood how much the $100 million dollar lighting manufacturers have on the line with their photometric data in regard to energy star compliance, and the penalties they face from the EPA if they misrepresent that data, you would probably understand the the lumen ratings (and LM80 data) presented are fairly accurate, regardless of brand.

you probably also know that nothing is free and osram/sylvania has absolutely zero incentive to give you 130 lm/W product in a box labeled 110 lumen/watt. That would be a horrible business decision

Let me get this straight. Me doing a test in my area over the course of several months, and testing many brands is not enough for me to comment on it... you need me to buy expensive equipment and do scientific tests before you'll give a shit?

How about I just pass on my results and welcome others to test the same brand I did vs others, and also welcome them to test with and without diffusers like I did.

It really sounds like your the one being ridiculous from my point of view, as you refuse any info that could be differant from what seemed true 2 years ago.

When you can easily set up 2 areas with 2 clones of the same plant for 10 bucks a area it becomes crazy easy to do these tests yourself, or you can just keep shitting on my experiance, whatever is up your alley.

no you can do it with a cheap light meter.but you need SOME metric

comparing successive crops with different lights is the definiton of anecdotal evidence, as explained here all the time

I think you already did that

the 'info' is not at odds with anything ive done

i dont like to add variables, energy in> light out, maybe the spectrum will shift slightly, thats about it. we know how plants react to phosphor white light. health of one plant over another is no metric of lighting efficiency. its like the guys who post up a blurple light with some pics of plants "see it grows weed- its as good as any LED out there, obviously!

How about you take your ass to Walmart and look at the current gen slyvanna bulbs before you keep talking. You'll see they are totally differant and nothing like the ones in that 2 year old thread. Go ahead. I'll wait. Your literally talking about something you have zero understanding of and it's funny as fuck.

So I recently made a micro grow box. I’m using a 7 way splitter with 5k 8.8w FEIT led bulbs, bought from Home Depot. My question is do these little LEDs need to be keep 18in away from you plants as well? Also I want to cut off the “Hood” I feel like its just for show and dimming my lights.
Dude, use those bulbs they work great in my opinion, i use them in a closet grows i do. I use the 100watt non dimmable ones though, i have a mixture of 2700k and 5000k in there. They work great for veg and flower......and they're inexpensive too.

I leave the LED section for a bit and some know-it-all dip-shit comes in spewing more misinformation. You so set on the results do the tests and post them. Why do you want others to do your testing for you?

Thanks for the review my dude! I figured I’d use the 60w’s if I don’t see results Ill just use them in my house and get the 100w’s. My seeds are still germinating so I have no idea yet. I just want to throw them in my box!

cool use the 5k for the veg part, when your ready turn on the 2700k or the 3k for the flower and your off....just watch the height....and your good to go....

If your talking to me... I'm done months of side by side testing, I dont feel the need to document it to prove it. The bulbs are low cost, anyone can go test for themselves. I feel I've done enough by doing the testing I have done and sharing the results. If nobody cares enough to see if they also see the differance that's on them. Theres no benifit to me to go buy something to test light output or repeating the months of testing I've already done. Do you know how silly that sounds? I'm already seeing the benifites of the work I've put in. I have nothing at all to gain by going farther out of my way to help people

i can't believe it either, some people....

Those two sentence contridict each other. Which is it?
Cobkits is demanding I buy meters to test light output and redo all the testing I've done.
I feel I've already done enough testing in the months of side by sides with several differant brands an with and without diffusers

Where are these said results? all you doing is spewing trash.
Mmmmk well your 100% welcome to not try it. So far everyone who's had shit to say to me about it haven't tried this brand of bulbs.
In a forum like this the only people who need data a sheets to back up claims are people who are selling stuff. I'm just a average guy saying what off the shelf brands of bulbs worked best for me. Why you even care?

So we suppose to take your word for it without any posted results?
I literally dont care if you do or not. I'm sharing the results of the testing in the way I pick. I dont post photos here so honestly this is the best you can hope for from me. If you goto Walmart just pick up a box and open it, it should be pretty clear pretty quickly how differant they are from the pos Walmart brand bulbs are and wont cost you a cent.

In other context people recommend Samsung strips or board and hate on shit off brands, but in this case your arguing they are all the same. Honestly just think about that. The differance in price isnt much at all, still around 5 bucks a bulb

Ok show us your tests. You talk a big game but you probably don't even grow
