Higher Female Ratio (Again..)

I would like to go on the record that, it's called a weed because it has a tap root. And yes, believe it or not...piss does effect some plants positively. I tested the theory on the wifes petunias. She thought it was the amount of water she was feeding them. Just the right amount of stimulation before she flushed the roots...LMAO!! (<-----True Story) I have heard the light shock works for hermies...1 week before flowering.

I know there have been a few topics on how to achieve a higher female percentage, but here is an article that had a few more conditions added to it. Check it out courtesy of cannabis-seed-banks.com

PERCENTAGE OF FEMALES
From literature it appears that the growth of a male or female plant from seed, except for the predisposition in the gender chromosomes, also
depends on various environmental factors. For growers who are well experienced, percentage of female plants is 60% - 90% female, but less experienced growers can end up with 100% male plants. The environmental factors that, according to literature, influence gender are:

- a higher nitrogen concentration will give more females (at the three-pairs-of-leaves stage and continue for two or three weeks).
- a higher potassium concentration will give more males (at the three-pairs-of-leaves stage and continue for two or three weeks).
- a higher humidity will give more females (at the three-pairs-of-leaves stage and continue for two or three weeks).
- a lower temperature will give more females (at the three-pairs-of-leaves stage and continue for two or three weeks).
- more blue light will give more females (at the three-pairs-of-leaves stage and continue for two or three weeks).
- Fewer hours of light will give more females (at the three-pairs-of-leaves stage and continue for two or three weeks).
- In later stage, as you increase the light, the plants grow faster and show more females/less males. Sixteen hours of light per day seems to be the best combination, beyond this makes little or no appreciable difference in the plant quality.
- Another idea is to interrupt the night cycle with about one hour of light. This gives you more females.
- Spray dilute Fish Emulsion ( 1 tablespoon per gallon ). When the plants have three sets of true leaves, plus the top sprout, give them a wetting spray of Fish Emulsion. Do it once a day for three of four days. Top and bottom of the leaves.
- To achieve 100% female plants is to expose young seedlings for several hours to an atmosphere of Carbon Monoxide. It doesn't hurt the plants, but it could kill you.
- Treatment of hempseed with ethylene gas will increase the resulting number of female plants by about 50%. Ethylene is produced by certain plants (i.e., bananas, cucumbers and melons), and these can be used to treat hempseed in a simple manner. About two weeks before you plan to sprout the seeds, place them in a paper bag or envelope and put that in a plastic bag with the peels of a ripening banana or cucumber. Replace the peels after a couple of days, and change the bags to prevent mold.
- When hempseed is treated with the female hormone estrogen, percentage of females that are produced will increase by about 10%. Dissolve a birth control pill in water and soak the seeds overnight in the solution. After the initial soaking, continue to treat the seeds by sprouting them on a paper towel soaked in the solution.
WHAT!!!!!!!!!! What are you doing? Dude, you hella screwed this up.
PEOPLE......DONT EVER UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE INTERRUPT THE NIGHT CYCLE WITH LIGHT!! FOR ANY REASON OR AMOUNT OF TIME
what this kid has just done was completely twist a legitimate, bonafide piece of masterful DUTCH grow technique and ruins the brilliant research by adding absolute nonsense of his own to the article. FIRST off, what he copied isn't even the REAL article! THE REAL ARTICLE WAS WRITTEN LIKE 20 YEARS AGO BY DUTCH PASSION (my favorite genetics source). they were the first ones to introduce feminised seeds in EUROPE. back then they weren't called feminised, but "female" seeds. but back then feminised technology was still in its infancy and stability was a serious issue for inexperienced growers..... hermies abound. So what DUTCH PASSION did was basically share inside secret DUTCH MASTER techniques to help the noobs along because the noobs were blaming them for bad genetics. lol.
i'm 45 yrs old now, i read the original in my late twenties. I'VE HAD 2 MALES IN THE LAST 2 DECADES. ITS TRUE! BUT NOT WHAT HE WROTE! GOOGLE " increasing female ratios but ONLY READ THE ONE BY DUTCH PASSION. it's somewhat technical, it's a research manuscript. it gives quite a few pointers on how to increase female ratios (no one will ever achieve 100% consistently, but i've come pretty close) i've learned to just focus on a few of the easier pointers and these have been my results... 2 MALES IN THE LAST 2 DECADES..........all regular seed , no feminised. feminised seeds are more uniform and consistent than regular seed but they come from hermie stock so i avoid them regardless. here is what i do .............
as soon as i can make out the tiny tips of the third pair of true leaves emerging( usually it's the first " 5 finger " set of leaves) i make sure my environment is squared away. GOOD MEDIUM, GOOD GROW NUTE, ONLY BLUE LIGHT (6400k), GOOD AIR CIRCULATION.
then i set my timer to 14on/10off (make sure to keep your "lights on" time consistent, only adjust the "lights off" time to create 10 hours off...this will make the light change appear more normal to the plants.......REMEMBER NO STRESS WHATSOEVER FOR THE NEXT 14 DAYS!!!!!!!!!!! NO LIGHT INTERRUPTIONS OR INCONSISTENCIES,NO NUTE OR PEST PROBLEMS,NO PH PROBLEMS,NO TEMP PROBLEMS,NO RECENT TOPPING OR LSTing, NO STRESS. you do that i guarantee your ratios will consistently be above 90%.
just wanted to clear this up. DUTCH PASSION's research has proven to be genius for me over the years. this info is especially valuable if you grow landraces or any "hermie-prone" genetic like the original "blue" family.
hope this helps you as much as it's helped me.

Fact:Cannabis was originally Hermaphroditic. The best info found places the first true male in Turkey @ around 7,000 year's ago.In that thousand year's that followed there were the first true evidence of females.Mummy's 6,000 yrs old with seedless Bud..A Hermie is a Hermie....Hermie beget's Hermie....No Light or stress other than chemical should change a solid strain.....
