high temps/closets

hey all,
well i have a heat issue,first off the space is 4'w 3' d 8'ft high.
im in a two floor apt,and the only reasonably safe spot i have is a upstairs closet.anyhow with a 17"box fan and a 8" oscillating fan at full blast,
the ambient temp stays 88-92f
the lights i'm using are 6 26 watt cfls and a 1000 equivalent floodlight(cfl)
the plants are staying nice and short but they seem heat stressed.
what makes it bad if i close the closet door to open the window the temps go even higher.
i'm planning to get a 5000 btu ac for that room but its gonna be like 2 weeks
you guys think they will be ok,by the way the soil is drying out fast is it feasible to water them whenever soil is dry up to my knuckle?
the planst are going on their 3rd week of growth from seed,i've fed them once with ff ferts,they are in 3 gal pots with ffof soil

so what kind of temps you get,and how have they affected your plants?
did you wind up with a higher% of males from stress,and is their any nutes that are helpful to heat stress.i see what u mean w/3 fans for a flow right cause the hot air isn't really escaping just getting recirculated.

Haha I thought I was the only one lol. Well like BloodShot said, fans and more fans! I have 2 fans in there and I try to keep the closet open as much as possible. Adding CO2 will actually allow your plants to sustain a higher temperature then normal as well. Yes, keep watering if your soil begins to dry out. Good luck!

Wow. I am soon getting an ac but in y closet if i shut the doors temps hit 103F.. using 12 CFL's 26w each.. lol and 1 fan inside the closet but 4 outside it

Man sounds like you all live in some hot climate areas.

I thought it was hot here in the south.
It is 71 deg right now and getting up to about 86 deg during the day.

Your plants will reimburse you.

Ac is good.
Do not let get too cold at night or dark cycle.

if you ac too much you will slow growth. mid 70's, if you are giving co2 you want to stay in the low 80's

let it cool off at night. even if you get down in the 60's youll be fine!

I opened my closet this morning. Temp was 112oF.. I am getting an ac probably today if my brother can give me a ride up there.. man it sucks not having a car.. i totaled mine to the cost of $11,000 i hat to pay for other guys car, $4,500 for the engine i had put in my car before the accident.. and to buy a new car.. =/
