Hermaphrodite

I saved one of my 8 males for pollen, this morning I found pistols everywhere so looks like I have a hermaphrodite. My question is should I collect pollen and use it on a few buds on one of the females or just let the hermaphrodite seed out, or should I germinate the few seeds I have left and hope for at least 1 true male and female. By the way at least my 6 girls still look like true females, and I think I have the hermaphrodite well separated from them.

Last chance to give your opinions, if no one weighs in, I think I'll let the hermie seed.

"Hermies cause problems because they may
carry the hermie trait with their offspring.
In fact, genetically the hermie will only produce
female seeds and hermaphrodite seeds. It will
never produce a male seed. If you have ever
seen all female seeds been advertised by seedbanks
then you should have the right to know
that these seeds come from female plants which
are stressed into producing male flowers. The
plants then self-pollinate themselves and the
results are female and hermaphrodite seeds. In
a special case a female known as an XX female
will produce more female seeds than
hermaphrodite seeds. That is how female seeds
are created." Grow Bible

i used pollen from the same type of male last time i bred. i am growing some of the seeds out now. they have not been sexed or flowered yet so i don't know the outcome but i did it and they're growing.

If all a hermie will produce is female and hermie then if it produces a load of seed I could just germinate a lot and separate the hermies same as I would the males, no? Unless the ratio is really bad I guess. Anyone know?

i would just get rid of the hermie.
if you have 1 hermie, every plant you have will go hermie, and all you will have is a load of hermie seeds.
ki9ll the fucker and start again.
a few weeks ago i killewd 11 flowering p0lants, cos 1 went hermie, and sent all my 11 females hermie , so i killed them all,

I had this happen to me once. I would not use the hermie pollen for anything. A genetic tendency to hermie is a genetic tendency to hermie, and you don't want to breed that into your seeds. What just happened to you should illustrate why you don't want that.

In practice, you can't just separate hermies like you would males. The hermie traits can be late to express and sneaky, whereas a male just shows balls. You don't want to invest a lot of time and expense in a plant(s) only to have to remove it from your flowering room half way through.

I think it's a myth that a hermie's pollen will only produce females and hermies. The myth spreads because people think you make feminized seed by pollinating a female with any old hermie pollen. It's not that easy.

Are you saying that just being near a hermie will turn otherwise normal adult flowering plants into hermies? If so, with all due respect, I hereby call b.s.

Whether you have some females or if your entire crop is hermie, would using [FONT=Tahoma, Verdana]Dutch Master Reverse be worth the money to save bud producing plants? I've read several posts from people on this site that claim it worked for them.

if you had 10 plants and 1 went hermie, it would send the other 9 hermie.
it would pollanate them like a male would.
a hermie is a male and female, so to speak.
plus if you smoke hermies, they give you a headace"when you smoke the unformed seeds,
plus hermies take longer to finish making seeds.
you want bud, not millions of hermie seeds.

I've read on the internet about people having success with this stuff. Apparently it also helps to use their "penetrator" product which aids with the foliar absorption of the "reverse" product.

But let's face it. If you're planning to produce your own seed stock, just do it right in the first place. You don't want to marry yourself to a product and you don't want to risk proliferating hermie genetics. Kill the hermie and next time take a cutting from a couple of backup males.

6 females, just one hermie and it's separated in another room, no light leaks and a good timer. Buds are forming well at 18 days into flower.

IT DIDNT SEND ALL YOUR PLANTS HERMIE. ITS IN THE GENETICS OF THE STRAIN U GOT. MOST SEEDS THAT HAVE TURNED HERMIE ON ME, WERE BAGSEEDS

why yu dont save them and fully blooming end yu miss nice harvest ( only with hermie seeds - and those seeds are good out growth... no matters.. they produce sensimilla and leaves and steams... then yu can cook something... ) and then strat new product inside... and if your all plants were female first before hermie thing.. yu lose because u miss feminized seeds ;) i feminizide my 6 plants and got 6moth leaves and about 70g buds ;) and feminized seeds about 150 :)

not bad thing always ;)
