Here We Grow!

Hey all you talented growers out there, I finally joined the party!

My first official grow is just about wrapping up. I cared for some unknown bag seeds inside a 4x4x8, using a Marshydro TSW 2000. I laid off nutes completely until flowering, and then used the suggested feeding schedule for Fox Farms Buds n Blooms. My soil was MG moisture control potting soil In 5g buckets. I wanted to experience and experiment with as much natural growth as I could before seeing how added nutrients would effect it. So, I wasnt expecting too much to say the least. I ran a dehumidifier during flowering and kept RH between 40-55 overall, but my heat was consistently in the 80s and 90s during this time. Veg time was almost 3 months since seed, and the avg temp was around 75. I had a circulating fan on the floor and a stationary halfway up directed at the light, with an inline and carbon filter above.

I made 2 videos to log my progress:

From seed to flower

Flower

I learned a lot this grow and certainly evolved my processes and environment over the course. That all said, I have 1/4 remaining in the tent. I chopped the other 3 yesterday due to what I believed to be heat stress setting in from the change in appearance I noticed. Perhaps I seemed impatient, but my intuition felt it was prime time. I left the other alone because it seemed several weeks behind, even though it was my biggest and nicest developed. It also has some odd foxtailing which I believe to be strain related, as the other ones never did, but seemed to be beginning to due to that high heat. I really dunno, but it seemed like my buds were growing an extreme amount of white pistils towards the end. These flowered for exactly 7 weeks.

I researched all about harvest timing and the associated highs and ill be honest, I know a lot rides on the type of strain, but everywhere I read seemed to have conflicting and differing answers to everything. So, as I said before, Im experimenting to learn for myself. I reliaze these were probbly pulled a bit immaturely, but I am still hoping to catch a buzz for my efforts! I currently have my plants drying, hung whole at right around 60RH and about 70-75 temp.

Looking from these buds, would you intelligent specimens kindly share your opinion on what type of high I could expect from my buds? Thanks so much all!

No pics.

At your current drying temps, if you cut your prematurely chopped plants into single branches to dry, they will dry much quicker than if you hung the plant whole, so keep an eye on them so they don't dry out too quickly and you can't cure.

As far as effect, that will depend on the strain, but typically early harvested shit will not have the full smell nor effect, it will be lighter, end quicker and it is possible to have some headaches or anxiety.

And if your videos are some, "yo, what up YouTube, let me hit you with some fresh slo -mo and disco light shots" please, share it!

P.S. I have 2 video progress logs I would love to share but dont want to post links or promote my channel if it goes against guidelines.
My beginner's intuition informed me I should chop the females once. How about a picture and we can see if yours is more accurate than mine. I certainly hope it was.

Yep. I knew that from a few growers Ive been keeping an eye on to model from. I have it hanging whole right now. I didnt cut or trim anything. Im going to slow play it best I can with my conditions.

Mine werent ready 100%.

I only knew by obersavtion in the buds development that they were reacting to the heat. Instead of condensing inward like they were nice n tight, the heat made them continue to grow more pistils and you can tell ever so slightly, these buds all started to begin foxtailing. From what ive read and understood, when they start “staring” out, growing those spires equally all around, its the plants response to heat. They werent doing that before and I just couldnt bear to think if I let them go on they would get worse. So I made the executive call with a clean head in the morning.

However, I feel I was also influenced by 1, not knowing the exact strain of these, and 2, reading that once about half the pistils start turning brown is an ideal time to harvest for a more heady high. I figured with what I was observing and reading, I couldnt see it being a bad decision with all factors considered. I didnt have a magnifier to look at trichromes. Ill be using one on my last plant to determine exactly, as I know thats the only way to surely know. I went by eye and feeling for the first 3.

This pic is from my last plant. It looks like it naturally foxtails, as its been doing it from the start.

If im wrong in any of my assumptions, I am here to learn!

Is that the picture of the one you chopped? That's picture shows early to mid flower and has a long time left to go.

If not I'd like to see pics of the one you chopped. I'm curious

I see you added images of some pretty immature plants are those the ones you chopped? They look like they had a good 5-6 weeks left.

Yes. Those are what I chopped.
I'm sorry. Apparently your intuition is a joker just like mine. Next time ignore it and go longer. Come ask here there's always someone to give you feedback. I don't know what kind of high you'll get. Hopefully you'll get some. BTW where was the damage? I don't see any heat stress on those. Just a little over feeding.

That's about all you can do at this point for them. I was able to keep mine at 68-70° in a cardboard box at 55-60% and they went 10 days....some others in my drying tent that I had to split up, are maybe going to make it 6 days at same rh but 73° Be diligent in checking them, you can't miss that window but it's easier to jar them up a little early and burp them down as opposed to drying too much.
