Here to help... Ask me anything

Pot size is entirely your choice. There are people on RIU that have contests growing and harvesting in a (12-20 ounce) party cup. I've seen some of the pictures and couldn't believe the size of the colas. If you have the room start with whatever fits, or approximately a 1-gallon size container and if you need to go bigger you can transplant after several weeks.
Well I have already purchased a few pots that are approx. 1 foot across at the top & approx. 1 foot tall, space is not really an issue, I just don't want to use bigger pots if not needed. Though I would prefer to only transplant one time. I am trying to avoid having to do a transplant during later stages of growth.

In that case go smaller or as big as you like, I think your plant get larger with all of that room to grow in the bigger containers. You are not alone, there are others that only want to transplant once. I transplant twice, once from the seedling container, and again 3-4 weeks before flowering. I plan to try once wih my next grow, only because I think my pot size is large enough to go the distance.

Im about two weeks into flowering my first plant (indoors). and have noticed the bottom leaves are dryied up and dying. why is this? and should i cut them off or leave the dead leaves on the plant?

Evening all, this seems to be the best place to ask my questions so here they are...

1. Just how many plants can you grow in a 1.2m and 2.2m tent? I have a friend who only grows 4 in a 2.2m but since doing some research I've read you could get a few more into that space.

2. Would you recommend an NFT system, seems a lot less hassle than potting.

3. Thoughts on this package - 1.2m x1.2m

If I can help anyone thats unsure about problems..

I will try my best to give you a simple solution to your problems
Hi, I have a couple questions,
First, is there a standard way to tell how big a pot should be to go with the size of a plant and
second. will it hurt any to trim up or to cut in half some of the bigger leaves around the bottom that serve no purpose???
Thanks alot

Hi, noob here! I just started the 14th week of flowering on this mystery sativa. The leaves have been slowly yellowing since about week 8. But now and suddenly, ALL of the leaves are dying, even the small ones coming out of the buds. I haven't used any nutes since week 4 of flowering, (used too much and started burning leaf tips so I said forget it, let's see what she can do naturally.) Anyway, she is really close to being done, stopped growing new pistils, and the orange ones are just now starting to wither. Trichs are still Mostly cloudy with about 10 percent clear and only a few amber. So does it matter why the leaves are dying if she is so close or should I chop now before it gets any worse? Thanks man, if you need pics I can get them, its just a PITA :) let me know.

I started my plants too early and I need to put them outside asap. I plan to wrap them and the container in clear plastic wrap with some air
holes. I was wondering if it's possible to put them outside now? There is just under 12 hours of light now so would this hurt my plants for the
Summer? I know they would start to flower but I would think in 2-3 weeks it would reverse.

Thanks.

So I dont have a problem rather a Question. So why is it in some pics I see some people trim there big fan leaves and the lower buds. Is this to make the plant concentrate on that main cola and the biggest side buds that werent cut. Or is this just how some strains grow.

Im also wondering if trimming those fan leaves or the small buds will help or hurt in any way. Thank you in advance

Maybe the plant is actually dying because it has completed it's life cycle; 14 weeks of flowering is a pretty long time

you can pick whatever size you want, the bigger the pot, the bigger the roots, the bigger the plant. I've seen lots of people trim the bottom few branches as they don't really produce much, and once those branches are gone, the energy that was being sent to them can now be sent to the fat colas on top

Any advice on some good outdoor strain for a first time grower in the southern midwest area? I've heard good things about Northern Lights. And I'd like to put out a nice Sativa as well.

Also, Femenized or regular? I was leaning towards femenized to avoid the trouble of sexing.

Personally, really like mandala seeds; good experiences with a few strains anyways, here's a link for which of their strains to grow where:

Thanks! I was thinking about using Mandala, I really liked their website. I have narrowed down my seed bank selection to Mandala (Their 8 Miles High in particular), Sensi, Barney's Farm, and maybe Big Buddha. Everyone seems to find them very reliable and sexually stable.
