the taste of the bud when you smoke it and the smell it has when growing usually tend to be quite different from one another so saying that cuz ur plant doesnt have a smell ittl taste like shit isnt a good guess, it looks like your doing great, lets those bud get nice a fat and when you harvest i think youll be very happy
your plant is healthy and green, lots of flowers, and i cant see clearly but it looks like you have quite a bit of trics forming as well

sounds like your off to a good start. i use city water myself and i just let it sit out 24 hours to 3 days, the h2o2 and the airstone are great. most people that iv seen run there ebb and flow 3 times a day for 15 mins flood (it all depends on your grow, just make sure the rockwool has a chance to loose most of its moisture before its flooded again) the co2 shake bottle is a waste of time, effort, and money in my opinion (it doesnt really pay off) as for you leaving, as long as its all on timers and your plants are happy on their schedule theyll be fine for a few days

sounds like you have plenty of moving air and your humidity isnt that high...id love to help more but besides having plenty of fresh air circulating around in your grow i dont know how to fix mold probs, i havent had any big issues with it and have never used a sulphur burner. i hope you get rid of it fast, good luck

well thanks for all your help mate and i'll let you know if it does change and how it is when i harvest,i heard putting sugar in the water when you flush out makes them sweeter have you heard this? and 1 more thing,everyone tells me when they bud like they are to take off most of the leaf,thats why the on the right looks a little spinly should i be doing this? andthanks heaps

flushing with sugar water?? havent heard of it
as for trimming the leaves i think its better to just bend/tuck big leafs that are in the way of younger shoots, although some pruning is said to be good, if you prune just do it gradually to lower shock to the plant

always remember a good soil mix will balance it self out regardless of the run off! SOil is a bit different from hydroponics..run off test is one thing...the actual PH of the soil is another thing

i guess its just how you do your method, some things just work for some people, iv seen people watering there plants with ph 4.5 water to correct a ph problem in there soil, in my opinion if i had to choose watering with 1 gallon of ph 4.5 to correct the problem or using 10 gallons of ph 5.5 id go with #2

it doesnt make them sweeter. I just helps in feeding the micro organisms that help with your plants up take of nutes and carbs. Id prefer you to use UNSULPHURED molasses instead of sugar. Use a Table spoon per gallon. Watch how them fatten up!

Hi guys,

I'm setting up a little grow inside to accompany my outside plans. I have 500 sq feet of mylar and am looking at attaching it to thin wood panels so as to be able to move them and reuse them easily. I only have a 400 watt mh/hps and to maximize the light I was thinking of placing a couple of the mylar panels underneath the plants, above the swc tanks. I am thinking this will reflect light back up to the lower branches and shield my water culture from the light to hopefully deter algae growth.

Do you guys think this is worth the trouble or do any good at all?

Also does anyone have an inexpensive plan for a light mover?

I think you be better off covering the dwc whole top with the mylar. Remember just to keep it clean so it stays reflective enough to do its job. I dont think anyone has successfully completed a DIY light mover...not that ive seeon on line.

if u were to have 10 1000 watt lights and a room 24 x 24 and all the other good stuff... how can u maximize the amount of pounds grown? how much plants
will be ideal to grow the most amount of pounds of white widow and sour diesal (or how much plants per light)? whats the best spacing for growing in
this room? how much pounds would u be expecting? don't worry about the lighting cost or being bait* that will be tricked. and please add any tips or
secrets u may have for maximization of plants growth. (growin in soil)

Thanks, Houston. I've scoured around and have seen no diy light movers ever come to light (bad pun) either. Someone needs to get working plans up and about. You wouldn't think it would be that damned hard...

Anyways,

Grindin Grinder, the rule of thumb I've seen tossed about is a max of about 2 ounces per 100 watts. If you have the room a scrog setup would seem to be the way to go...

rite now i figure per light there would be a area covered of 6 x 6 and 15-25 plants per light (which is better if it even makes sence?) which would make 9 6 x 6 and then save a light (and maybe add an extra light) for the 18 on 6 off room for germation, clones mothers seedlings and etc. this should total a 135-225 plants... how much pounds is that? and does this makes sense? any suggestions would be good

MAster of Genetics:

How may i master my venillation? I want anything added to existing to be as cheap as possible . Heres some pics of what im working with. THe exhaust fan is 180 cfm pulling into attic. Only problem with it is, its LOUD. so I have it currently plugged into a thermostat that only kicks it on if its over 85. Otherwise the only door is a hatch built in you crawl through. If I leave it open, the cold garage air drifts into it quickly lowering temps at least 10 degrees. Pics where yesterday, and since Ive added a cheap humidifier from walmart, and I cut into the bottom of wall by hatch and added some 4 inch dryer vent , as a intake. Any more Ideas on improving ventalation as cheap as posssible. thanks for nE feedback

Hey my peeps I have a quistion, I bought the book buds for less and it says that the soil ph is 5.1 so they made the water 7.4 how did they come up with 7.4 .What if the soil ph is 6.0 or 6.5 what should the ph of the water be.How do you figure that out.please help

Hey, masterofgenetics, cool of you to offer help like this... Im growing my first 2 plants right now but i just read that you cant tell the sex of them until you flower em... i have recently ceased smoking to pass drug tests for career reasons. I plan to resume just in time for the plants to be harvested. For this reason it is EXTREMELY important to me that i dont screw up these plants.
So now that i know you dont know the sex until you flower them, and this may not be for another month or so, would you suggest planting more seeds to be safe?
and do my extra seeds go bad eventually? i got them from a website in the netherlands...

as long as the seeds are kept cool and dry and dark theyll last a long time
also you can tell sex before you flower, pre flowers start to show, if you have the space id go for more

You want the soil to be between 5.5 - 6.8 and you are safe, you should water with a pH between 5.0 - 5.5 to make sure to keep a low pH.

hey bro i would like a littl help if your still offering or anyone else for that matter. new to hydro and 8 weeks in on my first grow, and my girl is looking a little limp. What can i do? will post some pics later. any thoughts, humidity,light for one lady,co2? how can i make it at home ? PLZ HELP!!

its hard to tell without pics, when i look at my plants and the leafs are drooping its overwatered but when i plant is limp and its all drooping then its under watered
but pics are key here!!
