Yeah I agree to an extent..
There is gun crime and there are mass shootings.
Crimes committed using illegal guns for robbery are not comparable to legal guns being used to take out groups of ppl.
what legal guns might we be talking about? whats the difference in the glock the kid used recently and the glock that was used to rob the store by my house? both were legal firearms at one point. they became illegal once he shot his mom in the face and stole them. they just fell into the wrong hands. i guess the point im trying to make is its not the weapons or firearms its the morons that get a hold of them. i mean do u blame a pencil for your spelling errors?

its not hard to take out a group of people with even one revolver and the reloading time it would take. people tend to freeze when shit hits the fan instead of react. its not the weapon its the people using the weapon that causes so much damage.

I agree it's the ppl holding the weapons not the actual weapons right?

So your agreeing in that case that some kind of personal assesment could work ?
Trouble is give governments an inch they take a mle.

I cannot even buy the bolt gun in .308 on which I have had my eyes for a while now. The CA gun regs are Byzantine. cn
Bolt-action .308; sounds like a hunting rifle to me, why won't CA let you buy it?

EXACTLY! It's like banning cars because someone maliciously ran over some school children. The gun is just a tool like anything else and by itself can do no harm. It's in the hands of the malicious that any tool becomes a threat to human life.

So based on that, politicians try to find ways to keep guns out of the wrong people's hands. The problem is, they never get it right on HOW and WHO is "wrong hands". Effectively they just make it more cumbersome for normal, law abiding citizens to buy them.

And what does it matter what "type" of weapons a person own. I've owned an AR 50 for about 10 years now. Some of my friends say, "that's too much". Too much for what? Why shouldn't I own one? Again, I've had it for almost ten years now, I haven't gone on a shooting spree. I haven't shot at people a mile away just cause I can. I haven't shot down any helicopters. So what is the problem with owning such a tool, or anything else equivalent to it?

You're not just referring to a bolt action .308 right? i'm going this weekend to buy an AR lower and if they allow them, i can't see why a .308 would be banned.

good luck with that, it has a pistol grip , therefore it is ultra scary and can kill way more people.

No one is going to sell you an AR-15 lower over the internet, as soon as they see you are from Cali, forget it. The lower is the part that needs an FFL licence and all the documentation to be purchased. The trigger is the gun. The upper with just the barrel, the bolt and charging handle you can just order from whomever and no license needed they can ship it right to your door in the mail. Totally legal.

The bottom part is the scary part...oooooooooooo scccccaaaaaaarrrrrrryyyyyyy!!!!

california requires most firearms to have a manual external safety of some sort, so theres lotsa guns that simply cannot be bought in calif unless they are modified or redesigned.

even your AR type rifles have to have a magazine catch thats NOT a button, you have to poke a stick into a hole to trigger the mag release. retarded.

Don't they call those bullet buttons because the .223 round fits right into the mag release recess?

“Guns aren’t even the most lethal mass murder weapon. According to data compiled by Grant Duwe of the Minnesota Department of Corrections, guns killed an average of 4.92 victims per mass murder in the United States during the 20th century, just edging out knives, blunt objects, and bare hands, which killed 4.52 people per incident. Fire killed 6.82 people per mass murder, while explosives far outpaced the other options at 20.82. Of the 25 deadliest mass murders in the 20th century, only 52 percent involved guns. The U.S. mass murder rate does not seem to rise or fall with the availability of automatic weapons. It reached its highest level in 1929, when fully automatic firearms were expensive and mostly limited to soldiers and organized criminals.”

We have a war on crime, drugs, terror, and apparently good sense. All these wars....

Yea, I want to trust my life to the same government that can't balance their check book. :wall:

Steyr SSG-08. It falls afoul of Roberti-Roos because of the pistol grip, collapsible stock, detachable magazine and probably the threaded barrel. Fools.

No; capacity is 10. That's Cal-OK. cn

Obama sets up Commission heading by Joe "Derp" Biden to look into the issue of gun control.

Hopefully Biden doesn't just "borrow" a report from somewhere else and put his name on it.
