Sounds like a plan! Maybe make you feel better - just moved five plants from regular seeds into flower this week and early signs indicate at least three and likely four males!
Yeah, from the start I wanted to go through all the gears and try to touch on a range of areas, including producing some of my own seeds.

Nah man doesn't make me feel good when a lady turns out to be a dude.

Check out the song above.:(

Cool thread. Sub'd. look like you have good help on here with Ninja, I'm pretty new, but he seems to be on target with his posts. Keep tokin' bongsmilie
Ninja has been a great help.

And guys like Yankee and Sincere are coming around more often so that's great too.

So I appreciate them and all the guys who contribute.

It’s been great having these guys to bounce my ideas off.

And welcome.

Well I've put her/him into segregation now.

We're gonna have to spend some time together.

Say our good bye's.

It's so Hard To Say Goodbye To Yesterday

It's so strange that this is only on one stem

man i remember hearin this wearing purple jeans and a club monaco shirt back in the day. Your right though, sayin adious sucks. Heres a pic of a good bye meal for a real nice plant. Prime rib with a red wine mushroom cream sauce. Our dearly departed was the centerpiece for the evening. On a side note i got cookie crumbs all over my bed while writing this :):):)

Lol's.

That song has been on rotation in my head since the unfortunate revalation last night.

And lol at the Cookie crumbs, they are seriously bothersome.

He S/he was such a fine specimen.

It was only after I went to bed early last night (lol) that I realised how *ucked up that ratio is.

My only seed run i planted 5, ended up with 6 plants.....seriously. And 5/6 plants were males. I kinda wanted to cry a little, it turned out ok though cause im an ace at cloning. Woulda been nice to have been able to have two or three to choose from. The pheno i found hasnt been bad at all though, no complaints, it just makes me wonder what if...ya know. Man i bet yours woulda been a nice plant had she have been a girl :):):)

Yero brooo,

The more you learn about breeding, the more you're gonna realize that you ONLY wanna keep males that exhibit certain characteristics, so that you can breeding them and hopefully retain those genes.
You said that is was a slower grower I believe earlier on, so that pollen could very well carry that slow growth!
You gonna wanna be extra selective in the males you keep.

Yankee pretty much hit the nail on the head IMO. A few pollen particles could potential stop your flowers from growing anymore than they have.
If you get pollenated early, sensimilla ain't happening.
I spread pollen around my first crop by removin bananas :/....

This whole crop looks totally different as it's ALL sensi :joint:

True indeed, I don't know a lot about breeding at all.

IDW I think is a wonderful specimen that's why I want to maintain some of those characteristics in my garden.

S/he took off like a bat out of hell (he's the one in the middle).

Grew narrow and straight, so could fit many more of this type in a tent than the more bushy type of plant, which takes up more floor space.

Would be nice if I can cross this with an indica to produce a medium height plant, less bush nice Cola's.

That's for the future, time will tell how that works out.

In the mean time I've still got two Sativa’s and Two Indica's (OG Kush) to tend to and this was the scene in the tent before IDW's departure:

Now there's more room for more light for more bud.

Gotta look at the positives.

And it looks like I should be getting an OG Kush out of the Clone Zone any day now.

So as one dies another one is born.

It's the cycle of life I guess

I haven't smoked in around 3 weeks. It's one of the tasks I set myself for the grow.

Since a grow takes around 4 months including germinating, drying and curing I have set a series of personal goals for myself to accomplish in that time.

So while the ladies (hopefully) are growing so am I.

I will be tokin all being well in around 8 weeks including a week drying and a week curing ;-)

You can def put a girl in another room with it and get yourself some seeds tho bro :joint:
Holy freaking Moly, this is perfectly in keeping with my low tech high effectiveness philosophy.

I feel like I’ve just smoked some high grade Sativa :bigjoint:

Watched a video from Subcool just putting a guy in a room with a couple of girls and just shaking the shit out of it.
He made sure to take precautions to avoid contamination tho. Seems to be TOO EASY to transfer pollen. I can't express how easy bro.
I mean TOO EASY lol. So if you're not careful, you spread the pollen around and won't get complete sensi :joint:

I watched him shaking the living sh*t out of that plant both yesterday and today.

I might have to do that sh*t outdoors at like 2am wearing a forensic jumpsuit and rubber gloves.

Then dump the jump suit and the gloves before I step back in the house.

Then shower before going into the main grow area again to avoid cross contamination.

Good idea, smart. I know my bank account would personally grow, need to try that! :-)

Well that was a factor also.

It costs a pretty penny or two setting up a grow room.

So you have to set aside a certain amount.

But after you have spent the money set aside you can bet your bottom Dollar that an unexpected expense occurs.

Or there is something or things that you realise/decide you want or need for your grow room.

So it's wise to put a lot of frivolous spending aside, the grow becomes the hobby the focus.

I have set other goals like reading, gym activity etc.

Yup, I would rather spend on my grow these days and wait for the time that I can taste my own produce.

Probably have a few friends round and video that session, maybe.

Having said that I will most likely go pick up something from the weed man the week prior, so when I smoke my own I'll be able to give a more accurate assessment of the quality of my own produce.

Just deciding now which Indica to mate with the male Sativa.

I'm thinking I may collect the pollen, store it in the fridge (in a sealed glass container) and then pollinate the chosen one.

All of this will have to be done under sterile conditions away from the grow, to avoid cross contamination of course.

The male plant is not ready yet caught him at an early stage.

He should be ready in a week or two.

A friend is looking after him in the meantime.

After he performs, he dies.

It's like a damn Gangster flick.
