Help with soil

Hello dear smokers,
I've been having a headache about the soil, you see, I don't live in USA and finding compost and most things related to planting is really difficult. My question is: Can I plant my seeds into some random commercial soil? since is a pain in the ass to find compost and that stuff. I can get nutrients, but the soil in specific is my problem.

HMMMM...I never heard of a place without shit before...new one on me. LOL!!!

Luckily, there is a boatload of info on soils on the www. What you may want to do is gather a list of products you have available to purchase and use. Then compare them using the internet.

Yeah, I kinda wanna avoid using shit... I'm not good with disgusting stuff. Hmmm and about the lake or river... nice idea!, but let's say I just use a random commercial soil, is this going to make a significant difference on the quality and yield? what about nutrient deficiencies? (this is my first grow btw)

Commercial soil? As in namebrand and bagged? You know there are quite a few things you could do to acquire the good soil your looking for. I would go on a walk and look around, notice the textures of soil you see, is it clay based, or silt, maybe loam? The world is covered in dirt that we can use! If you find some suitable soil, amend it with organic findings such as pasteurized horse manure, rotten fish, etc. Also, it can be as quick as 50-60 days to make your own compost, so don't count that out. For compost, remember 3 parts carbon material, 1 part nitrogen material. As for bagged soil, Fox farm will always be recommended, and it's easy to see why, but I've also used Coco Loco also from fox farm I believe, and really liked that.

nothing wrong with bag soil,,you feed it right and magic happens all in the microbes regarless of what nutrients you use ,soil bioligy is number 1 period,,these that recomend this or thats better, all crap,,if you want nutrient feed plants easier in hydro,,build your sol whatever it may be ,keep it alive without throwing salts at it and magic will happen friend

You can use any soil you like. Just get a potting mix and mix in some perlite. All this can be gotten at a hardware store.

Get some potting soil and mix in with some EWC and perlite. They're gonna love it. Just check the NPK and be careful about slow release stuff.

Well well... you see, I'm on a REALLY low budget. What's the cheapest option I have? Can I grow with cheap soil? I mean, I'm gonna invest in nutes, but the soil part is just too complicated to do where I live, I can buy them online, but like I said, I'm on a really low budget and the shipping would be too expensive.

Whatever soil you use, it's critical you add dolomite lime (NOT hydrated lime) to it. This will balance your PH and allow for heavy feeding. Without this, your PH could be off and you'll end up with deficiencies. If you purchase the fine powder form, mix two tablespoons per gallon of soil; if in pellet form, mix three tablespoons per gallon of soil. Just mix in with soil, water, wait a couple days and stir soil. It's then ready for planting. Once again, I cannot stress how critical this is. Once you have a properly balanced PH, you are then ready to pound your girls with nutes and watch them take off!
