Got two babies one northern lights and one orange cookies. O/c started a week later but seems the better of the two. Pruned the other. No fancy equipment doing outdoors in the UK some orange hairs forming bottom half all still white pistons?? When do I chop. Not much sign of buds

Okay thankyou how do I know when to harvest.. do I chop the whole plant or individual? As was told when hairs are 75% orange? Also the bushy one leaves blocking the buds from the sun?? Do they look good size and decent considering it's just sunlight thanks sorry for all questions lol

Checking the color of the hairs is a pretty bad method for autoflowers. The method is better for photoperiods. But the best way to check the readiness of your plant is the trichomes.

Don't bother wasting time looking at pistols. I'm growing autos all summer. Just when they look done by the pistols they will shoot off more.

Yo I have to go by the trichomes. Really. If you follow no other advise follow this.

For autoflowers you have to look at trichomes to tell when its done.

Jewlers loupe (accurate), zoom in on your phone (kinda tell), or digital microscope (best way imo)

Pistils are the number one indicator of where your plant is in its life cycle. You don’t look at trichomes until everything else is in line. Not sure wtf these two are talking about.

If you looked at pistils you would see all those white ones and keep your scope in your pocket for a few more weeks

How's that? I'm telling this guy dont cut his plant off off looking at pistols.

Your telling him he's fine to do that.....

Good luck ts.
That’s not what I said. I said use scope AFTER his pistils look ready. You’re saying scope is all he needs. That’s why your scoping a plant 3 weeks from harvest :hump:

Oh Jesus. I am not scoping anything right now.

I am showing how pistols can be deceiving. Which you dont seem to think is a thing especially for new growers.

Your plant does not even look close. You’re being deceived because you’re confused. No one on here will think your plant is ready but you.

Again. I cant seem to get you to understand.... I am not claiming my plant is close to ready..... I am not trying to guage it.

I am showing how pistols can look almost done in that second pic and how they poped new ones.

The 1st pic is today the second pic is 5 days ago.

Again I can't emphasize this enough.

I know my plant is not done.

They don’t look almost done.

you said you scope it don’t look at pistils and that’s wrong info. You don’t look at trichomes UNTIL the pistils look ready. That’s why you’re scoping a plant 3 weeks from being done

Holy fuckballs batman.

I'm not scoping anything you dingus.

Keep telling those who are new to go off of pistols. You do you bud.

I'm sure you have assisted in many early chops bud.

Looking at trichomes is the ONLY sure fire way to know your shits done.

Also tell me exactly what is wrong with looking at trichomes through out the life cycle???

That is good experience. Seeing when they go from glass to cloudy is some experience EVERY grower should have.

Anyway. Have a wonderful day being stuck on me looking at my plant......

How fucking dare I
