The feds have an unlimited budget and they moniter forums such as this. If you come up on there radar, they will just push buttons on their keyboard and they will have the address to the computer location and therefore your name in minutes. They will worry about the court order when and if they need it.

Hypothetical = Tommy Fade in Oregon mails Jim Buzz in New York a quarter elbow.
Post office discovers it, cops deliver to buzz and bust him. Buzz is a twat so he says what can I do to keep my buttginity? Cops say roll someone big and buzz says look at rollitup, tommyfade and his buddy grow trees and boast about selling elbows and tommy sent me the QP.
Cops dont believe him but they look at RIU and see that they are actually people stupid enough to boast about selling elbows, buying washing machines to manufacture softball sized balls of hashish, and announcing/throwing dope parties at residence. Oh and they have excellent pics and videos on the WWW that prove beyond a doubt they are guilty.

Thats not a true story. Its just an example of what can happen if you are not careful

Not quite.

A bunch of us went camping for a weekend and people came and went visiting as they pleased. Im sure there was some grow talk going on but more of a BBQ and coors light can crushing meet and greet for most there. Don't get me wrong there were a few funny smelling cigarettes going around but there always is when a campfire is going...right?

Im thinking that boneheadbob's example shows a perfectly good way to get in trouble. I and everyone else that I met at the BBQ were med patients that weren't looking to buy or sell anything. Just have a chillaxing trip to the lake and talk story about how is was, how it is and how it should be. [/FONT]

I hear ya, just the thought of losing my buttginity shocks me.

The BBQ's are just a bunch of legal Cali med patients & caregivers getting together for a BBQ.
Nothing at the BBQ would draw Federal attention, we weren't selling anything there.

I hear that bob. You started your post "if I was not legal" .. In the eyes of the Feds none of us are legal but if we hang around talking about our personal plants and how to grow them better I don't think anyone cares. I think the days of them going after personal med users are over but unfortunately I don't think that's what is being spoken of here.

Is there a cliff notes version of what happened after the BBQ?
Some sort of arguement after the BBQ?

Because many of us live in reality where LEO could care less about some personal 6-12 plant grow. Speaking about state legal card holders. cannot speak for code of conduct for illegal growers, protect ya neck!

The BBQ was no big deal. That is most likely not what put fade & KMK on the radar. I was just curious why some folk were so upset about something that happened there

Does anyone know of a good federal defense lawyer in Illinois? Whose the biggest pain to the prosecuter?

It may not have put them on the radar, but it may have been a perfect opportunity for gathering information. If I simply showed up at a bbq it wouldn't land me on any kind of radar, but if they are looking for guy incognito because he posted pictures of all the hash and weed he has in his house, and they somehow link ME to guy incognito, well i'm sure you can see where i'm going with this.

If there were cops at the BBQ they were smoking like a freight train! Anyone not smoking at the BBQ would have stood out like a pair of shorts on a nude beach.

Everyone I talked too about weed at the BBQ, was stoned off their ass and any info collected would be worthless.

Rats can smoke weed though. If someone is facing a felony they would gladly turn you over to be skinned alive if it could reduce their sentence.

Feds could care less about a stoned BBQ. It's sales and distribution, especially out of state that they are concerned with. They've publicly stated they have no interest in medical patients use and cultivation (within state law of course) .

So are we supposed to shun FDD when he get's out, because he's facing a felony? I don't think so!
I'd like to give him a big hug, just like I did at the BBQ, felony or not!

Indeed, it is the threatening rant about knowing names and telephone numbers I think about when I stare at the ceiling at 3:00 am.

From a distance, don't think it had a thing to do with the BBQ, but not quite as certain RIU didn't play an indirect role. Really hope I'm being overly paranoid, but repeated lack of control outbursts always turns on my radar.

Right here^^^^!!!! Informants do most of the dirty work when it comes to busting people for drugs. They can smoke, snort, shoot, eat or drink whatever they want to and there's not much anybody can do about it. The cops would never bust anyone if it weren't for "informants".

Officially, there is a lot of stuff cops aren't supposed to do. However, this is the real world and most drug cops will do whatever they have to to get a bust...........including smoking a little weed.

All i'm saying is I think it would be stupid for me to post pictures of a huge grow operation, medical or not, if I have quantities that are over my limit and could potentially be charged with a felony. I don't give a fuck what "they've" state in regards to medical users, IM not showing my face after I have gathered and laid all the evidence to convict me out in picture format on riu.

No. I will shun him and EVERYONE from this site for my own protection. Shun is the wrong word, but I won't be showing my face or meeting with anyone from here. Too much incriminating evidence, even if we simply meet for a non mj related BBQ, it's still a security breach imo.

I think we could spot you from a mile away with that top hat and fake mustache. You need some dark shades like me to complete the disguise, only then will you truly be incognito.
