Help me design a low budget closet

I was thinking something like the cool cab, but after the reviews I have read. I don't know about a dual stage closet. I still think I want that closet to flower, especially since it has a key lock naturally. I am using a 400W HPS and two Stealth Hydro Bubbleponic planters, giving my 6 mature plants with 2 little clones feeding on there solution. So the clones may not last, but they look great. I was using a bow like the mini cab, not finished all wood, but I am fucked by height restriction and I think that the light is screwing with my top region of plants. I have believed to found hermies so I cut them as well as some pruning and a major topping on one. I want the closet as a flowering solution now. And I am trying to setup the best thing with the least money. The box I intent to finish constructing as a veg chamber. I need and appreciatte the support. I am going to be building another stealth box for another location. So there will be more to come. I don't have a digital cam, otherwise I would have pics up.

I need some help, be back in the morning. Tomorrow evening I have to get this done before my lights come back on. If no other help. Where is the best place I can go to buy a metal closet in white, that I can atleast drop in my tanks and light for now. Any advice as for venting that box, will be very helpful. THANKS.

well that cabinet would work good for clones and such unless you want to take out the shelves because you definately dont have the height to grow in there if youleave them in. so that brings me to this point if you are not going to use the shelves why bother buying it. you can build something much cheaper. I prefer wood anyways, if you use a metal cabinet that could contribute to heating issues. You can choose to do wot you like but I can tell you wot my first cab I designed was.

I basically built a frame out of 2x3's I didnt see using 2x4 necessary and they where much more expensive.
I was building this to accomendate 12 plants but you can do it on a smaller scale or built it the same size and split it and make a flower and veggie area.

my dimesions where : 6'l x6'hx3.5'd these are the measurements from the inside of the cabinet. I used some cheap 1/2'' plywood on the top, bottom and two sides the front I left open using a heavey duty drop cloth ( which I actually switchedto panda film and I recommend) but either way you can get away with the drop cloth if you over lap it. I mainly did this due to venting issues I was having, but if you are looking for a more secure set up then make the front a double cabinet door to open up that way you can lock it too if you need. i am not familar with bubbleponics as I use soil ( soon to be ebb n flow) but I make sure I have atleast 3.5 feet of actual grow space after the pot is already in there, I also have cooltubes on my setup so this is very helpful and allows me to get away with a little bit shorter vertical space. now because I prefer to keep my light stationary I have put in some extra sidebeams ( see pic below) so I can actually move the level of the floor depending on how far I need my plants from the light.. I used some nice reflective insulation on my walls and ceiling and have 2.5'' passive airholes drilled the whole way around. I then added a 6'' exhuast fan in the midright side ( again see pic) and I have a 6" inline fan hooked to my cooltubes and vented to the outside of the cab. oscillating fans in 2 corners and humidifier in there as well Ihave issues keeping my humidity above 20% this is why I added that, this may not be your case you will have to test ur cab out and make adjustments along the way. One thing I can tell you is definately get ur set up done before you even germinate it will save you a headache. hope u can get sum good ideas from this. GL if you have any ??? just shoot.

So wood disipates heat better than metal? I wanted to go with that idea of cabinet for simplicity. I intended to get rid of all shelves except for one. I would like for my frame to be ready, which is the idea with that cabinet, and then from there drop the tanks the light and start worrying about venting and reflecting. Have you seen Sunlight Sheds Cool Cab. They are using those cabinets. Unless I am wrong. I would love if someone had a rear pic of Cool cab. You did a very nice job on your box.

not familar with the cool cab a I build all my own shit cuz most places rape u on prices. but yes wood does not hold theheat like metal will but again i have cooltubes as well so I vent right through then and have a closed venting on my lights which helps drastically on the heat issues.

Hi Cali Gurl!

Nice setup you show started in the pics. You're not worried about light leakage? Looks like lots of room to grow!

Please post more pics (completed?) if possible.
Best wishes with your grow!

The depth of the smaller staples cabinet will be an issue, especially in terms of fitting a ventilated hood and ducting. I'd try and find something a little more substantial than the smaller cabinet on the linked page. The usable space is always less than the dimensions. The larger cabinet would be good. I'm not sure which you have in mind.

Hey Maccabee, I want the larger Staples one. I still havn't purchased, cause I havn't had time. Thought of wood, but I need a quick fix. I want the larger one designed to Sunlight Sheds Cool Cab Spec. but without the cloning chamber. Cause I understand it's no good.

thx. nope its light proof that is in a larger area that is closed off so my lights are timed to go out a like 1 am til bout 5 am so no worries and the drop cloth which is beign switched to panda film is pretty heavy duty I just used some black spray paint onthe second sheet and have no issues.

hahaha I build shit thats wot I do. that cab use to be for clones and I was using cfls so all those are 2.5" passive airholes but now that I tossed a 600watt in there I needed to put in soem extra venting but the passiv airholes are good for fresh air circulation and then I haev an exhuast fan as well. Ill shoot u the link it wont be up prolly for another week or so pretty busy.
