I'm growing 2 different stains in soil. I'm right at 7 weeks flower at day 49. I don't want to harvest early cause I want to cure them properly. The leafy buds are strawberry diesel and the hairy buds with long pistils are jack herer. Any advice is much appreciated. Pics attached....

You’ve got a few weeks left from what I can tell(click insert full image when you post pics thumbnails don’t load on lots of phones)

lots of white pistils still, look like they still have a growth spurt to go though too where you’ll see some bulkcome on. Be patient, keep up the good work.

Ngl I kinda hate those leafy buds(not yours in particular, just the general growth pattern), mfs look fat asl when they’re growing n be little bitch buds when you finally trim em up

Yep, what he said. If you can get a jewelers loop or a x60 microscope, look at the trichomes and wait for them to start turning amber. Once they start, you know you have about two to three weeks left until cutting time. Start flushing then

Thanks for the help... I was thinking the same with those leafy buds on the strawberry diesel plants... It's like where the hell is the bud under all those leaves...? Is that just a genetics thing or is it something that happened during the growth cycle?? Thanks again....

They’ll fatten up, but yeah that’s genetics some just have a higher leaf to bract ratio than others.

Lately I've been thinking about leave to calyx ratios and also frost to bud size. All of the frostiest plants I've grown have had small buds. I've also noticed that big colas usually aren't very leafy. So I'm starting to wonder if it's like a balloon with dots where the more air that is blown into the balloon, the farther the distance between each dot. Maybe each bud has a predetermined amount of leaves and resin glands, and it's up to the grower to steer the plant into its optimal size. Some strains are leafy, but they are leafier when not grown to their full potential. Sometimes the full potential is small and frosty af.

This is probably completely wrong, but it sounds good in my head.
