heat issues

Is that a heater or A/C in the flower side ?
What size fan, inches & CFM, are you using to extract the HPS ?
If the fan is strong enough you can mount it on the roof, inside or outside, with the filter attached.
Drill some holes in the veg side, opposite the fan, and in the bloom/veg dividing wall so the air is pulled from outside > into veg side > thru dividing wall > into bloom side then up and out the roof.
Use pvc elbows , painted black, to block light and guide the air downwards.
I knew a few ppl that have also installed those dark room louvers/vents into their cab walls.
Works the same way as the black painted pvc elbows by blocking light (dark room...lol ) and allowing air to be pulled into the cab.

Also read the Ventilation Calc link in my sig for good info about air flow, cfm's and holes sizes to be made.

that is actually a dehumidifier for when the plants are bigger and making the room more humid. it's kind of a vicious cycle though, if the humidity is high the dehumidifier is on, creating more heat and then the chiller needs to be colder, causing condensation, which seems to make the humidity to rise. i could be wrong though.

i have a 6 inch ecoplus and a 6 inch vortex, eco is 440cfm and the vortex is 449cfsm. i use one in the cab, but i don't extract the heat. it just pulls the hot air out, then gets sucked through the ice box to get cooled, back through the hot light again. if i extract through the roof(which i have tried since i drilled holes in the roof of the cab) the reservoir is in the same room as the cab and the hot air extracted from the light will be heating the reservoir and the heat problem still exists. and i also have co2 running once the plants are flowering, so it would be wasteful to have extraction like that, as my temps in the veg room are nothing to worry about yet.

so if i have 87ish for an ambient temp, plus co2 running, do i not have much to worry about as long as the res temps are in check? ideal res temps are 65ish to 70 through flowering right? i have also heard that you want semi-high res temps during early veg to promote root growth. if this is correct, then when is it that you want to finally knock the res temps down to 70ish or lower? not til flowering or do you want it lowered before then?

Okay, I understand now.

Your 87ish ambient is perfect for your CO2, so no worries there.
Just keep the rez temps under 70F at all times, and no semi-high temps bcuz that is asking for bacterial root probs and we can't apply fungi to counter the bad bacteria since this isn't soil/soilless.
65F is the sweet spot for the most dissolved oxygen to be produced, but 62F - 70F is fine.
Below 60F and the plants metabolism slows to a winter crawl.
I try to keep my temps 62F - 68F, FYI .
