Due to corporate espionage I won't be getting the LED panel I was anticipating, but will be receiving 2 ufos, retro fitted with helio NW & WW

Just in time for me to put clones under :bigjoint:

Shhhhhhh. Did I ever say A51? :mrgreen: I did want not to say who, in case there were problems, which it turned out there was.

The alien pods will be out of their space craft soon- being shipped Monday. There is no consensus that they will make these 45w UFOs.

The mother ship will take a good bit longer to arrive:bigjoint: Hint Hint Wink Wink

Sorry to hear that pet. I was curious on the new lamp from area 51.

The gorgeous full of secondary branching G13 on the left in my HOT5 tent has nanners. FUCK!

I'm hoping the other G13, that I have been stressing like crazy in my LED tent, to force it to be a male is a female, so at least I can get seeds for future grows

I was wondering about those UFOs . I assumed they were gone. Since that post in their blog was so long ago. They sounded like a good deal...

Hey pet have you heard of this? Tiresias Mist Seed Feminizer Spray i read into it on the forum a few months back. not sure when you need to use it but you spray it on one branch and it turns it hemi and feminised seeds are produced.

420B, no I haven't, but don't buy into buying such products or fem seeds

Temps have been warm here throughout this grow, which also leads to higher humidity in a tent, both of which tilt the scales to males. LED tent has been ~ 85*s: HOT5 83*. I finally opened one flap on the opposite side of the fan on the LED tent. Temps quickly dropped to 81*s

Quick update- no pics

I just did a complete rez change in the HOT5 tent. Will do the LED tent soon

Been a little tardy with the pics

Part of the reason (apart from Sophia turning out to be the bushiest male I've ever grown) is no evidence of females, but no evidence of males either, which is a good sign since females usually take longer to show. And maybe, just maybe the G13 in the led tent is female, in spite of my efforts to stress it when I thought for sure Sophia was female. Sort of like Michelle Obama :fire:

Both rezes have been cleaned and fresh nutes added.

Lights have been ~ 14 hours for ~ 10 days, so time to drop to 13 hours

HOT5 pics are of what I hope are 2 females. Melanie (on the left in pic 1, and pic 2) is ~ 29" tall

Still unclear about sex of G13 in led tent, or the biggest WHx in HOT5 tent. They are both ~ 30"

Last night I cut hours back to 13 in expectation of pushing sex

Lol come on man LEDs are under developed technology when it comes to growing maybe one day they will be able to achieve HID results but not at this time. Also why do you warm your water when roots are already developed should be total opposite

Do you think cooling the roots is better? I just always thought warm roots would be better.

It's cold where he is at right now. Too cold of water will kill plants faster than too hot.
Ignorant hater. Led's are already matching hid in yield at half the watts and twice the par. Check the other threads on here. Now go away.

"GURU" When you shit in someone's thread you open the door for whatever comes next...

Using guru in your avatar is a sure sign you are not. Real guru's let their actions speak for them

The difference between stupid and ignorant is that ignorant means being unaware of the facts. Stupid means unable to learn. When we look up stupid in the dictionary we see your picture

Update

Humidity has finally fallen below 80% and the rezes are now relatively pH stable

Still no signs of sex in all but the one G13

Finally seeing a few sexing. Sigh! Still no signs of G13 sex, but should be any day now

HOT5 Tent

Alas, another WH male. This one surprised me. It is the smallest one (and very bushy) in the HOT5 tent. I was sure it would be a female

Plants on the Move

I replaced the male from the hot5 tent, with what I hope to be a female (WHx) from the led tent. It is in between the big male, I moved the G13 to the far right, away from soon to squirt pollen, but will remove the male soon

LED Tent

The middle spot was open, so I moved the G13 from far right to the center position.

Removing the vanity bar lowered the tent temps a few degrees.The Philips and Feit A19s are bigger than the Crees and generate a lot of heat; those leaves in closest proximity were suffering accordingly

While playing musical chairs, it seems clear that the second G13x (led tent) is also a male, so both are males. (see pic 2 & 4) Bummer

3 males out of 6 plants. I've never had such a high percentage of males. I blame the high humidity (reading from an old grow book this morning, high humidity INCREASES females) that I could not afford to control

Looks like 2 short WHx females + the large WHx has yet to express, so will pollinate one with WHx the other with the large G13x (pic 1-outside hot5 tent)

How much taller are you expecting them to get? I had no idea the ones I am growing where going to stretch out so much.

Saturday I received 2 @ 45w ufos (NW + WW). The WW replaced the 4 hanging globes in my LED tent, the NW is being used as side lighting in my HOT5 tent

Out of 7 seeds, it turns out 4 are male, including a 3ft G13x WW that I will pollinate to a few branches of a WH x WW female of similar size. This should be an awesome cross

I will move the female, currently under the leds, to the hot5 tent, and use the led tent for WH X WW clones

4/7 males is very high IMO. I was reading through one of my grow books Indoor Marijuana Horticulture by J. Cervantes, 2001 and came across a page regarding 'feminized' seeds, but instead of buying them, this page (#261) provides tips to make your own, or at least to increase your odds of females

* Fewer hours of daylight

* More blue light, less red

* High Nitrogen

* Low Potassium

* Low Temps, but high humidity

Obviously, these are not cast in stone, as Sats will want more light than Indicas, so maybe 16 hours for veg instead of 18, and for Indicas maybe 15 for veg

As for blue v red lighting, more blue up until plants sex. But what does 'more' mean? We know that mj only needs ~ 20% blue (<460), so maybe you double it to 40% until you know what their sex is, then drop it back < 20%

I was doing some reading about seeds and feminizing seeds and I think most people use female plant pollen, so there will only be female DNA in the mix. I don't really like this idea from a breeding point of view, sounds like a strange idea. I am thinking about trying to do some Plant Tissue cultures if I get enough time. Have you ever seen this done before Pet?
