This just in from LED Magazine...

This week we have an update that covers a partnership between OLED manufacturer Novaled and Colnatec to use the latter's sensor technology to solve roll-to-roll manufacturing challenges that could lead to lower-cost panels. In the same article, we discuss a potential breakthrough at the University of Utah that could yield white light without mixing colors generated from multiple active layers -- again offering potential for lower manufacturing cost.

Since bumping ppms to ~ 600 plants have taken off.

Thinking further on why the sudden spurt, Phaeton from IC mentioned he keeps his humidity low and pH 5.5, which he says allows for better nutrient uptake. Wel, I did bring pH down from ~ 6.5 to 5.8 and lt it drift. So now, I will start at 5.5 and let it drift to ~ 5.8

I did some more undergrowth and lower fan leaf trimming before taking these pics.

Be careful with that foxfarm. It has quite a bit edta in it. A little too much will burn the shit out of your plants. I learned that one the hard way when I used to do hydro and first switched to soil. Its not organic like they claim.

Apparently Sophia did not like the idea that she was being over-shadowed by Melanie, who is in an entirely different tent. Either way, both are doing quite well.

Note the lack of shade leaves. Contrary to popular belief, I cut mine from 3 node down. My theory being more light to the undergrowth helps side branching to develop. Seems to be working, no?

looks like your plants are enjoying the veg and bloom. i used it for several grows and was quite pleased with it. i strayed away from it for a bit to use some dyna grow on a round i have now. i am extremely impressed with the dyna as well. i am also trying the veg and bloom in coco with some clones i just started. good luck with your grow

LED pics. Sophia (G13xWW) needs more light, but is doing phenomenal considering the wattage. Plant to left of Sophia is doing quite well. The 2 on Sophia's right (not in frame) may be females too. Been stressing them by cutting off most of the leafs in hopes of forcing males.

Partner hurt his back 3 days ago, taking muscle relaxer + running a dental lab- so panels still on hold

I adjust both rezes pH daily to ~ 5.6, but by next morning both rise to ~ 6.0

So far, not yet seeing any benefit to using the larger Air Pots, but now coming into the all important flowering cycle.

For all good reasons, time is marching on as to when I will get 2 @ 2 x 2 panels to install in the led tent

Being the 'Decider' (a lame W reference), I moved Sophia from the led tent to the left side of the HOT5 tent, next to Melanie, so Sophia could get more light.

If I had more G13 x WW seeds I would have left her, but I want her to be all she can be (and sill performing mind control over the other G13 to grow some balls to assure progeny

It is quite amazing how close in height and overall size she is compared to Melanie, especially when you factor in the led tent is common leds whereas the HOT5 has a hot mix of specialty aquarium bulbs

Keep in mind they have different crosses. So far, Sophia is leaning more to sat (and probably would outgrow the 5ft led tent height) with Melanie more Indica. That said, Melanie's mother started out Indica dom, but by flowering, transitioned to sat, similar to the clones I finished in July

When I lifted the WH x WW, roots were exiting the bottom, so I cut them flush. She now resides in the led tent where Sophia held court

The led tent is not going to be as exciting, at least until I get the panels installed

Im assuming 'muscle relaxer' is code for 'the plant'....plenty of back rubs from you wont go astray either my friend...

BUSINESS partner (a he). No, he actually got a script for muscle relaxers. Hoping to meet up today, bringing him Magnesium Chloride for he and his wife to rub in + some herb

Well, Sophia likes her new light and surroundings. The HOT5 upstairs is a frame in a dark room, so lots more air and height for when Sophia and Melanie grow, which both did over night. Had to ratchet up a couple inches this morning

Pet, how did you work out to feed the plants in intervals. I assume when they are not feeding you still have water dripping and I also suppose you have two separate reservoirs, one for water and one with the nutes?

Plants benefit from a dry cycle, the critical factor is how much dry v how much wet.

Lava rock does a nice job of holding some moisture between feed cycles. I put down a layer of lava rock then cap with river rock, which keeps the roots cool.

Feed cycle depends on stage of growth. I feed shorter bursts more often in early veg, then increase as the plants grow. Since they got 3 set of primary leafs, been feeding them 27 second bursts with 36 minute pause. When lights are off I only feed every ~ 1.5 hours

Not that I am overly concerned that pH swings from ~ 5.5 - 6.0 in 24 hours, but have not experienced such swings prior to incorporating the magnets round the 1/2" feeder tubing

Nutes are from the same jar as last grow, everything is virtually the same

So, I decided to test 'repel' v 'attract'. LED tent now in repel, HOT5 now in repel
