What method are you using? I use tap water which in the uk, has fluoride added, and have no problems.

Next time. Plant straight into the soil or use jiffy plugs, eliminates any risk of transplant shock, stops any risk of damaging the taproot when putting into the soil.

Replicate what happens in nature and u'll have no worries. Soaking in water never happens in the wild, and for good reasons called mold and fungus.

Straight in the soil. No need to make it more complicated than it should be. Weed is very easy to germinate and even easier to grow.

Dude the best method I've used is to soak a paper towel with clean water until its wet, but not too wet!

place the seeds into the towel, and put the towel on a plastic plate.

put the plate on top of a certain heat source, like a dvd player or something. within 24 hours it should sprout. Ive read the best temperature for sprouting is around 85 to 90 degrees F.

Cheers :)

DaBeat problem isn't with getting taproot to show as I place in shot glass on top 360 and block out light works great once they go into the soil they never sprout I've used party cups and rapid rooters and peat pellets seeds were diesel riders northern lights from seedsman and a few free fems from attitude

The paper towel method is just being downright nasty to your seeds. There are tiny hairs on the taproot, which can and will damage these. Healthy taproot means healthy plant. As said previously stick as close to nature as possible. Straight into soil or jiffy plugs. Read up on the subject and you will see where i am coming from.

Have not mate. Try doing a search? I have read the thread, and it is very informative. I wouldnt have bothered with the emery board. You are better planting the seeds untouched.
