Having problems removing 18 awg wire from bjb holder for citizen CLU048

Hi, so I realized I made my wire too short, but now I can't seem to get the wire out, does anyone know if you need to press down on something before you can remove it? Havn't been able to find instructions online anywhere.
EDIT: I should clarify, I have been pulling on it but feel like I'm exerting way more force that should probably be needed and don't want to break it.

I've never worked with one before, but I would think that there should be a tab or something you need to depress or release to get the wire freed from the holder. Totally guessing here, though.

I always assumed they used the same tech as on their 20mm star holders where you just have to bend back a metal clip that’s holding the wire in from the bottom.

Anyone got a pic of a BJB holder wired up without a COB front and back?

I’ve only used ideals for COBs and BJB for 20mm.

im 90% sure the gripping mechanism is cheap barbed metal without an access to open the barb. i mean it would be major surgery to maybe restore a $2 part to functionality

So @CobKits you say

theyre not removable. you can do it but it almost always destroys the holder. cut the wire and extend it with 2 wagos or wirenuts
Soo once when I put them into holdet I cant remove them any how without damage
I have bjb holder and realy dont want to wire mx 4 cobs with wire that I cant pull out....

So if this id true I go with 0.75 hard wire instead 1 mm

I dont get it

Now I have soft 0.75 wire and I can remove wire from holder and then put back on without problem or damage to holder...

So I dont get you how they are not reusable?
If i put 1 mm wire in my holder ,can I remove it without damage like this 0.
75 soft

Of corse they are reusable. The trick is to twist the wire like you would a screw. Make sure you trim the end off and re-strip.

E2a I use 20awg for everything.

tried that with 18 solid, grabbed it up close to the holder with a pliers

it did work in terms of releasing, and it did grip again. I wanted to test if it affected the integrity of connection so i repeated a few times with fresh stripped wire. The second time it pulled out easier, after the third it wouldnt grip at all

if i was in a pinch i might use this trick once but not make a habit of it. But i might be biased when it comes to connection integrity. my wall AC burnt out a receptacle the other day so thats fresh in my head

Always replace a burned out accessory with a premium version. Imo.
