Dan can grow

Well-Known Member
Ok well I'm growing in promix. Veg about 6 weeks under a led light. I Ph my water to 6.3 and feed every time about half strength maybe a little less. I use gh three part. I add 5 ml of camg, and a pinch of Epsom salts. So my issue is that I've been running this strain for about two years now and I monster cropped my favorite pheno to use as a mother. Now she won't lose the redness. I've done everything I can think of to remedy the situation. I keep my closet at 75 day and 68 night and rh is around 50%. Now I have three test clones and I put them under the sun. And they went green again. So I returned them to the led and purple is back. Could my light be causing this issue. Even my new strains in there are purplish and the ones I have under CFL aren't? I'm baffled. Why are my stems and leaf veins purple.

So no reply is OK. My girls are still red and purple. I've now flushed, and repotted. Hope this will help. I do tend to think it's my light

I read it. It seems that it's OK then. I did notice that after putting them outside they greened up. So I moved them back in. Wierd to see the stem go four inches purple to bright green then the top is purple again. This is my first veg with this light and I'm not at all impressed. The purple has me so worried it was a nutes issue. I can say the led keeps the nodes stacked tight.

I am curious as to why this happens with LEDs. I by nature am an experimenter. Maybe if I was to add supplemental cfls to my cabinet would that change their color? Or get a mh and say screw led.

Tis a genetic response to environment

I use T5's so it's not the LED's, could be spectrum though

So it has to do with the actual genetics of the plant. I did notice my gg4 and og are purple where my afgooey and pineapple kush are nice and green

I am a breeder and this is a trait I look for, if a plant does not do it I don't grow it again. I have found over the years that plants that do it have better smoke 8)

That's cool to know. How long have you been breeding? I just tried on my last run and got about 10 seeds. I'm curious to see what phenos come from them. Like I said I'm an experimenter so I had to try it.

Nice! Well it's good to chat with someone so experienced. I've been growing for about 3 yrs now. I was curious what to look for in strains to make them good crosses with others or do they have a certain compatibility or something

the secret to breeding fire is cousins, you can breed for any trait that you like, potency, smell, taste, how it grows, etc.

So two different pheno mothers crossed with best male and those seeds again crossed with male for different traits like taste, growth etc?

So what if I crossed a male and female and got say 10 beans. What would happen if I crossed them with the original male pollen? Is that a f-1 hybrid
