I hear ya. My fiancee tells me to just breath deeply and that it's just a panic attack but it dont do shit. Lol. I know it's a panic attack... it's not like the moment you realize it's not really a heart attack it goes away lol. They've prescribed me xanax but I refuse to take it. Just putting myself through the gauntlet.

Been smoking for like 20 years. Had a daughter in 2018 and since then I have been getting anxiety and panic attacks almost every time I smoke. Needless to say, I have cut back big time. Went from dabbing like half a g of concentrate and a few grams of flower a day to barely being able to take a few hits. It's crazy. Had a very similar experience to what you mentioned OP. Initially I thought I was having a heart attack, went to ER and everything was fine. Didn't realize it was from the cannabis so I continued smoking... I'd get anxiety and then smoke more to try and combat it, always worked before... but then come to find out it was the cannabis causing it. I occasionally had good days where I could smoke a few joints, but then other days I'd smoke a quarter of a spliff and then have 2-3 hours of straight panic... 200+ heart rate, elevated blood pressure... all the signs of a heart attack. I'm generally healthy, a little overweight... Doctor says its cause I went through so many life changes in a short period of time... over 12 months had my daughter, lost my Dad to cancer and my dog died of congestive heart failure. I didn't really believe him at first, but I can't think of any other ideas. From research I've done, I guess I could have damaged my CB1 receptors from smoking too much... My friend and I have done a lot of talking about it and we think that having my daughter opened up new pathways or something, and now the THC is connecting to the receptors in my Amygdala (apparently the part of your brain that deals with stress/anxiety etc.) I read somewhere that for whatever reason your body can start processing the THC differently and prioritize what parts of your endocannabinoid system get the THC first, or what receptors are the most receptive... I have no idea. lol. I still enjoy cannabis through site and smell, sometimes I'll do a fat dab of some really terpy shit and just not inhale as best I can. What I really miss are the terps. Hopefully one day they can come up with some conclusive information as to why this happens. In the meantime I am going to keep trying to figure it out. Been almost 2 months now where I haven't really smoked at all, trying to reset my system... funny part is that I still feel high all the time. lol.

*Edit: Doesn't matter what strain I smoke. Indica, Sativa, whatever... sometimes I can smoke one strain and I'm fine, the next day I get anxiety. And CBD does nothing for me at all.

Calm down and take deep breaths.

It worked for Tommy.

Not so much for Cheech! ;)

I’m partial to good ol diazepam. I’ll take it over Klonopin every day of the week and twice on Sundays.
My personal fave is Ativan.
agree on the ativan. Xanax didnt last long for me, but the others didnt work well either.

GET SOME CBG, It counteracts the affects of THC. that along with CBD should aleviate your problems.
I used to smoke shed loads of weed n dope, and some good stuff from an MC, better living through chemistry lol
but i started getting realy bad paranoia and anxiaty attacks when smoking around other people, fine when i was on my own, just around other people, so i gave up smoking for 15yrs. I recently got the itch to smoke again and i started with just CBD then discovered CBG and now im growing out a test batch of SENSI SEEDS high CBD/THC 2/1 , AND THE HIGHER CBD SEEMS TO HAVE WORKED. I can smoke it without a problem.
but all i can say is get some high CBD/CBG strain and mix it with your green. good luck and please dont have a heart attack go go

Go go chiming in reminded me about this thread. I've recently started growing, which is a great new healthy hobby for me. Keeps me off the computer when I am not working. Additionally, I have been focusing more on my health... better diet, high intensity workouts, taking some supplements. I have to say I feel leaps and bounds better. Still a little anxiety from time to time but nothing near what I was experiencing before making these positive changes. Additionally, a couple of the supplements I am taking, Ashwagandha and 5-HTP, I think are helping with my overall mental health as well. Or so I am convinced they're having some affect. They're known to help with anxiety and panic disorders, not eliminate them... so to each their own I guess. Ultimately I think that these changes are helping. I will check back in in the coming weeks with an update.

5-HTP is awesome. I was first introduced to it maybe 6 years ago when I used to roll a lot at festivals. After a night of munching on MDMA it works wonders lol. Replenishes all that serotonin you burnt up the night before. That's really my baseline for that lol. Having rolled and not taken it, you can definitely tell the difference. I'm not sure how much it helps if your serotonin levels are fine though lol. Might do dogshit. Just figured I'd try it because anxiety etc can be brought on from low serotonin levels. I will look into GABBA, I believe L-TYROCENE is in another one of these supplements I take. I will check in the morning. Thanks for chiming in dude.

I have struggled with acute anxiety and panic attacks for years. I always feel my best when I am living well. When I eat right, get plenty of exercise, my relationships going well, I'm typically fine and can enjoy cannabis without issue. When I get lazy, depressed, stressed out, fighting with loved ones, the anxiety creeps back in and weed often exacerbates it. I've started trying to treat cannabis as a reward for living right and loving myself, not as an escape from living poorly and hating myself.
That being said, when I do have a weed induced panic attack I have had great success with a combination of cbd and cbg. I have some 1:1 cbd to cbg wax that I keep around and if I feel the anxiety monster gnawing at my brain a dab of it seems to calm me down almost immediately. I also have found that semi-vigorous excercise helps. I also have had success with some of the previously mentioned nootropics, but for me there really is no substitute for living a healthy, active lifestyle. Stay well everybody. <3

Been smoking for 18 years now. The last few months I've been feeling weird after toking up. Faint, dizzy, tingling in arms. Feels like a stroke if I had to guess. I went to the hospital a couple months ago. They couldn't find anything wrong. Idk. Now when I get that feeling I tell myself I'm just tripping. Last a couple hours each time. Scary shit.
Yeah, in the 60's. Had some red that messed with me. Couldn't stop twitching and jerking. Not so much now, damn it!
