Has Opiate use permanently ruined my enjoyment of alcohol?!

Hi there,

I have a strange question that i cant find the answer for. I took Tramadol/Zydol for around 7 months for back pain, ever since i stopped taking it i cannot get the effects of alcohol e.g the buzz, euphoria.

please note it is NOT a tolerance issue, i can drink and drink until im sick and not feel anything. (it was just to test how much i could drink/prove it wasnt tolerance)

i have been in abstinence from Tramadol for about a year now, im really worried im permanently damaged. any help or ideas why this is happening?

Weird, I've done all kinds of opiates never tramodol though was hooked on methadone and heroin switched to just heroin cause quicker withdrawals (not the best idea unless you need to get off quick its so fucking bad) kicked that bitch cold turkey.

But I can get drunk just fine.

thanks for the reply, that is strange you've done stronger drugs than me yet alcohol still works for you. i really miss my beer, hope im not damaged for life :/

methadone was my maintenence drug, after the first few weeks no euphoria and fuck the withdrawls they lasted me a year.

did it give you any euphoria after the first few?

yes, before tramadol i could get drunk easily. tramadol has definitely done something/damage to my brain

Hey tramadol is pretty good.. has a long half life too. I really enjoy its anti depressant effects. But 50mg=20mg hydrocodone in high

my friend used to drink his way through withdrawals, to this day i still don't know how on earth he could do it.. i could never even look at booze kicking..
