Alrightly quick rundown, currently I am week 2 of flowering and things are going good i think for my first grow. I will be goin outta town Dec 12 and am on track for harvesting that week. Should I....

a) harvest before I leave, thus hanging them in a closet in my apt.
I will have a fan in the closet and vents are already in place

-or-

b) leave them on a timer to still flower another week, i have one of these little watering globes that slowly releases water under the soil (which i have already tested and it can last up to 10 days)

I guess I am also asking will that extra week of flowering produce enough extra bud to go with opition B... I dont know which way to go give me some info

I cant advise you to harvest soon or not, but I can share some things I would consider.

Security. If you wait to harvest smell can increase, electrical problems are possible,

Harvest Quality. If you wait and everything regarding the plants go right quality of the harvest should be better.

Securty. Anything that can go wrong is possible.

I cant think of any other pros or cons but Security keeps running through my mind. Especially in an apt. grow. I know apt. grows are dangerous...almost as dangerous as a garage grow..if not more with some situations.

IDK what I would do cuz I dont know everything about your situation....from apt mgr...neighbors..friends...family..etc...etc..etc

Personally I think I would lean to harvesting early.

I think that while allglad has a good point i would look at my trichomes under a scope and if they are not milky yet iw ouild wait if they are just beggining to turn milky i would wait. do you have anyone who is going to be around while you are on your cruise??if so i would wait. it all depends on what stage those trichomes are at because they make a hell of a difference

Sounds like you are a bit away from leaving, so I'd postpone any decision till as late as you possibly can. You might get an indication from the bud itself. If it were me, I'd look at what I thought the window of ripeness would be, and just before you leave decide if you think it'll still be in that window when you return or not. If you think overripen in that time, clip before you leave. If you think you'll still be in that window (7-10 days for many strains), I'd leave it till you get back, as slightly more ripe is preferable in my mind than premature.

risky business leaving the fragile, defenseless children home alone on a week vacation.

what would mother nature have to say about that?
