Harvest today or in 4 days?

Agree.
And I am listening :)

But I cant just ask all the time.. I need to learn how to know myself.. and that's the guides I know...

In short most of them are talking about harvest when 80% of the pistils are brown or 20% of trichomes are amber.

If someone has a better guide I will thank him.
Easy guide to when they are ready.

All or almost all pistils will be brown/orange.
Calyx will be swollen.
Pistils will retract towards the swollen calyx. They won't be sticking out at all anymore.

That's it. All you need. Identifying these will just come with experience and looking at plants or pictures over and over.

Your best resource is to search this forum for "is it done?" threads. You will see your question over and over and hundreds of pics showing what happened when they did or did not harvest at this point.

GWE is a brillant site and explains this, but you arent really seeing that part because you dont trust yourself or us to give you the needed info.

Before even thinking about harvesting take a look at this and see if your plant is actually showing you all these signs.

The signs of ripeness are pretty standard.

First a few of the pistils begin turning color and start receding. Your plant is just starting to ripen. Depending on the strain you could still have two months to go. We're just starting this journey.

Two to four weeks later you'll notice that most of the pistils(>80%) have now changed color and curled back into the bud. It's frosty, way bigger than it was a few weeks ago, and smells dank! It's time, right? Not a chance killer. Patience is a virtue

Over the next 2-3 weeks it doesn't look much different, maybe a little more swelling in the calyxes, and the rest of the pistils change over, but the stems ars starting to bend under the weight of the buds. These ladies are putting on weight and now the buds are doing their final ripening.

Now you begin looking at trichomes, on the calyx not leaves, and harvest according to your preference. When looking at trichomes it’s essential to look at them from the side. The bulbous heads can magnify the opaque stalk under it. Looking from the side allows you to more accurately see the condition of the resin in the trichome head.

There is still no rush to harvest, the window just opened, and you have several weeks before you MIGHT start having to think about it possibly beginning to get too ripe. It takes WEEKS for plants to mature not days.

It is very easy to harvest a plant to early. It is very hard to harvest a plant to late. I've been growing since 2005 and I’ve never seen someone accidentally wait too long.

Great explanation!
I did notice the stems are bending, but didn't connected it to getting weight.

Thank you all for info.
I will post some new photos in few days.

Yep the plants start adding weight through density later in flower too. So you won't always see much outwardly telling you its getting bigger, but all the magic is happening inside.

Should I start checking for amber or not yet?
This cycle driving me crazy... we need to do some house repair and I am stopping my house owner from doing it..
Dont get why those plant are so slow this time... 16 weeks, 112 days for an auto!

I don't want to get the max yield, I just want to get the good mind high and body high balance.

So, can I plane to harvest in one week?

Thanks

Look you can harvest whenever you want. We have just been trying to help you find the patience to wait the plant out till it’s actually ready. It takes weeks for plants to mature not days which commonly gets overlooked. It sucks that breeders put false expectations in people’s heads about autos being fast or easy to grow. Sure there might be some autos that go through the growth cycle faster then photos, but no where near as many or as fast as breeders claim.

It sucks you are dealing with landlord stuff. I’ve been there it’s a pain when you are growing. Your plants definitely are still maturing and ripening so you aren’t wasting time. But if you neeed to call it it’s understandable considering the situation.

I just don't get it.. how much time total?
16 weeks? 18? 20?
What should I expect here? I have no idea with autos...I am in the dark here...
Regular feminize I know I can push 2 weeks after the flowering time breeder write, here I don't know even what to expect.

I have been told 2 weeks before 3 weeks... lol

I planed according to 12 weeks top.. I am already in 16 weeks...

Plants are like people and are vastly different from one another too. Plants mature at varying times too like people. Learn to read each plant, not follow generic timeline.

Just remember how much time money and work you've put into them plus the time it's gonna take ya to trim and dry the buds and everything. Don't wana have all the time into something and then be disappointed with the outcome because ya couldnt wait a little bit longer. You got this brother home stretch.

Yes, but I also have life.. its hard not to have a clue at all, you can't plan even a house repair.

I am on the "bit longer" for 4 weeks lol
Been told here in the beginning of the thread couple of weeks...
And again, it not that I want to smoke it. I have to take the tent out or the room

It is what it is brother, part of growing and not liking it won't change it. We all run into those issues one way or another and many of us try to automate as much as we can for that reason... but looking at your plants and deciding when to harvest is simply part of growing. Just try to enjoy it and learn or buy from a dispensary if it's too much to handle. Not a whole lot of middle ground here.

Hey weed, i’d hate to be in your dilemma man the devil on the right is telling you now the angel on the left is telling you to wait I don’t know man to me it looks like it’s ready within a few days but I don’t have the magnifying glass and I don’t have the loop to look at your plants but I wish you the best of luck brother
