If anyone is good at flower-clones/monster-cropping, advice would be appreciated. I've had 3 successful attempts, but it was mostly luck. Here's my knowledge so far and any gaps that could be filled in would be great - if not I will be experimenting with these to see what works.
I went back and looked at pics (date stamps) and these are doing a lot better than the last batch. Might be the strain, because my seedling/rooting process has been set for a while.
Anyway, it took almost a month for the first new single leaves to pop on the last batch, and I'd like to knock off a week or so if I can.
I couldn't really tell where the sprouts were coming from, but they were ugly little things with deformed leaf-things about 3 weeks later
After that, I was disappointed because there were only 1-3 sprouts per plant on the 3 that re-vegged. I had heard how bountiful and "monster" they were.
I then found out that all you need is one - and patience. Once you get a sprout, it's the nodes off that sprout that go crazy. The "Christmas Wreath" monster I did was from 2 sprouts.
This GDP had 1 sprout. I ended up with a 4-prong manifold like plant
I flipped her in the above pic then and got about 2 oz out of it. Later on I also buried that mess on the trunk that was the original top bud. I brushed it with come clonex then added soil. After harvest that section had rooted like mad.
So that's it. everything I know is anecdotal. "Here's what happened" - but just a general knowledge as to why.
Here are a few questions I can't find answers to .
Since they were already in flower, should I think about watering them more than I would a seedling, or at least starting sooner? I am wondering because
Should it get a light veg-type feed early to bump it in the right direction?
These I can check on a few plants to see the difference if no one knows
The other question is whether or not there is anything I can do to speed up the re-veg process. The only thing I can think of would be the light schedule, but I don't know if I would lean towards 20/4 or 16/8. That is one I am not checking because I know 18/6 works - even if it takes a while.
Haaaaaaapppy growing!
I also want to see what a regular veg-clone does if taken from a monster mother

- unlike a seedling, the stems already have good structure established to deliver water, so I don't want to starve them.
- On the other side, there isn't anything up top growing that needs water. I now know that everything I see will be dead or dying by the time it sprouts.
- But I need that stuff to live until it sprouts... so how much water does it need?
