gun safety

As a veteran, I stand in support of the 2nd Amendment, and exercise that right everyday, by carrying a LEGALLY REGISTERED and licensed .45 ACP everyday...

I have taught Hunter's saftey for over 5 years, and have heard the all too familiar phrase, " oh, its unloaded..." and seen plenty of weapons fired accidentally.

What happened to you is an example of what I am talking about...

Countryboy, i kinda gotta say that you were in the wrong on this one to begin with, for the simple fact that...

1) it was your weapon, you left it AND ammunition unattended for ANYONE TO SNAG!!!

2) if it was in a soft case, shouldn't you have a trigger lock?

3) When you were done with the weapon, how hard is it to put it in the trunk of a car???


Now... I feel for you and your loss of the fetus, but the "accident" should be a dead ringer in your head from now on... But for someone that has taken as much Hunter's Saftey as you say you have.

I think you should have known better.

By the sounds of it this asshole would have went and got the key for the gunlocks.


I'm sorry but some asshole digging through his CLOSET, then loading it doesn't sound like he didn't take precaution.


Storing a gun in the trunk of a car is just asking to forget it and have someone steal it vs sitting in the closet at home.

well the idiot that pulled the trigger should be charged with at least negligent homicide/manslaughter. and i'm reasonably sure the cops would have him in custody by now since there was a death and hospitals report gunshot wounds.

any updates on the situation?

true - but i'm guessing it will be more than discharging a firearm violation!

trust me i know i was in the wrong im not disputing that i know the gun should have been completly put up but i figured i had surrounded my self with people of high common sence, i was wrong

we didnt tell the police about the miscarrage he is my close friends cousin and im not gonna take a person away from there family thats not me, i'd rather teach him a lesson and be done with it

That's a tough lesson to teach a person all by your lonesome. Does he know all that happened? Has he apologized?

plus the courts gonna rape him! he's kinda gothic with the big gauged ears the bangs down his face and satanic tattoos so he'll have fun. i hope he gets a female judge
that and his statment is just about retarted he said he thought i wanted the gun loaded (not 3 minutes after me making a big scene unloading it and making specific lectior infront of everybody not to even try to look at it!) becouse i was brokin into a few days prior

just got back from court i got charged more for owning the gun and not removing the gun then he did for shooting me and my girlfriend and killing our unborn child! and the system took my gun! god damn im gonna hurt this boy! they gonna cause me to do something im goona regret

Man it just aint right aint right at all.....I know you just want to slap him around a little bit but maybe you should sue him in a wrongfull death suit or something then whoop up on him......

i got put in the sphyc ward all night i just got back.

he got a year probation 100 dollar fine
i have to pay 250 bucks, they told me they'ed give my gun back after the trial and right at the very end one of the cops stands up and asks to perminitly take it. and i got 3 days in!
