my sheriff is an elected official. who's fault is that. better screening and training of the police force would be better than citizens gunning each other down. don't you think?

but in the mean time, they're still the ones you're trusting to protect you...

citizens should not gun down citizens. citizens should be able and willing to prevent crimes that are preventable...part of being a responsible citizen.

that's what you would say if someone was stealing your car with your child in it?

wow.

.

what more could i do. of course i would do what i could to prevent it. but i'm not going to carry a gun JUST IN CASE it happens. do you carry a fire extinguisher with you everywhere? you are more likely to come upon a fire than a baby stealing car thief.

this whole, i'm a protector thing is just silly. it's like building up nuclear arms. i am 40 years old and don't own a gun. i haven't in 20 years. i have no reason to. i lived in south oakland for 10 years. throughout my 20's. never felt the need then either. believe me if you need a gun that would be the place. i found a handful of 38 rounds on the curb by my house one day. live rounds. just a pile on the ground on a tuesday morning. yet i was NEVER threatened to the point of having to kill anyone. i guess i'm just lucky.

good point with the fire but my point is that we, as citizens, are entrusted. it's an obligation to be a very good shot and to be very capable of using arms in conflict. i do keep a fire extinguisher in my truck and my wife's car, along with first aid and jumper cables. :)

as sure as i'm writing this message right now this country will be invaded or will have a major civil war. this WILL happen. it might not be this year, or decade but it's coming. it's not only a right, it's a duty to be prepared and be effective.

i don't "want" to kill anyone, that's several pages back, but throughout history it becomes a necessity for people who thought it would never happen to them...

ok since you even have cables and a first-aid kit you are responsible and cool with me. when we do get invaded, if i bring supplies, can i come hide with you and your guns? that would be cool. thanks. i got pot. :hump::peace::joint::joint:

I agree. There won't be an invasion but there will be chaos. You know what's going to cause it 7x?

Remember New Orleans.

natural disaster? hhhhmmmmm. put enough of them together at once. just by coincidence. in the right areas. with the right media coverage.

remember all the snipers and murders after the hurricane? media hype. it never happened. we all believed it was though. bet some guns got loaded during those days.

7x, you'd shoot at a car that had your child in it? Even the cops would never do that.

i don't shoot "at" anything. if i shoot it's because i'm on it. i've never wounded an animal with a shot, except one time duck hunting...it was my first time, i was 15. dropped one and the next got out of range, prob didn't even do any permanent damage... i would scan some paper targets so you can see what i'm talking about but it would be too easy to accuse me of poking holes with a pencil or something.

i do agree though, i wouldn't want the average cop to try that. most of them are too lazy to put in the work to get good with their weapons.

why do you think the cops never enter competitions with private citizens? the military isn't afraid but the cops have their own little circuits so they can plink off big round targets at 15 feet...and brag when they don't miss one!!

It's not about hitting a target, it's about bullet trajectory. The slightest things can change the direction a bullet travels, particularly if you are shooting through a car window. This is why the police wouldn't shoot at your car with a kidnapped child in it.

You caught the news over here? A legal gun owner, normal family man shoots and kills a cop and then himself with a .222 rifle after a domestic dispute with his wife.

How did this happen? Is the cry from my country.

He owned a fucking gun.
