Gun control is coming

About how many licensed drivers are involved in serious or lethal car accidents ?

Did you have a gun license when you were involved in the invasion of Viet Nam? Was the object of that adventure to kill people or were all those bodies just a weird coincidence? Why would you want people involved in killing innocent people to also be the ones that control licensure?

So, if a person is otherwise peaceful, but doesn't obey a given law, you're fine with guns being used to attack the peaceful person to get them to comply? Sounds a little shoot a dog prohibitiony to me.
There were 10,360 DUI fatalities in 2022. Most committed by licensed drivers who were not obeying the law and killed innocent people. Yes law enforcement officers are entitled to carry weapons for their own defense since gun ownership is so loosely regulated and we have empowered them to act as our agents in enforcing laws. Every Rob, Dick, & Harry and drink driver may be armed and not in full control of their faculties.

I must have missed the rest of your answer. Silly me.

Not in full control of faculties ? That sounds horrible!!

So, are you saying it's not the license that makes people safe, it's obeying the law that keeps us safe from gun violence?

Okay if I was a peaceful weed grower, unlicensed, perhaps even breaking some silly law, you'd be okay with law enforcement officers coming and "protecting themselves" by shooting my dog, stealing all my plants and putting me in a cage? IF I had obeyed the law, I would have been safe, ahhh, now I get it, you've completely convinced me that responsible gun ownership means attacking people who aren't attacking you.

If we just obey the law, we won't get shot. I wish I had thought of that. :p

In California you can now sue gun manufactures for damage caused by their wares...
New California Law Holds Gun Makers Liable: “The Gun Industry Can No Longer Hide” SACRAMENTO – Taking new steps to further hold the gun industry accountable, Governor Gavin Newsom signed legislation Monday allowing the state, local governments and Californians to sue gun makers.

There is a reason most police officers in Brittan are un armed.....Please refer to British gun laws. If you want unarmed cops I suggest you move to England.
Yes, there is a reason. Laws, made by politicians, some of whom have private armed security, are the same laws backed by threats of gun use by police which were passed to disarm people in England.

It didn't matter if the people disarmed were behaving peacefully or not, they would have been shot and still will be shot if they disobey.

Would you say using guns to disarm otherwise peaceful people is an act of violence? If YOU or I did that, would it be a violent act?

Governor Newsom will enforce that law with pea shooters and feather dusters though right?

Civilized peoples have been making laws and shunning/banishing law breakers for 1000's of years, Biden and the libs didn't create the first ones. Thankfully we live in a civilized country with rehabilitation agencies to deal with offenders. Many countries aren't so nice.

So if you or I threatened an otherwise peaceful person with a gun, it would be bad?

If we got elected, we could magicly transmogrify into a being that could threaten otherwise peaceful people with a gun and our actions would then become good?

I did not know that!!

I guess I will stay uncivilized. It seems so much more peaceful.

I generally do not put people on ignore. It reduces my access to the local abusement and irritainment.

Doing my ignoring not by automation but up close&personal means so much more. In this era of fast, high-bandwidth digital communication I want there to be no doubt which digit of mine is doing the communicatin’.
Me too! But I have my limits and reached it early on with his idiocy. I broke my ignore “cherry” on Rob lol.
