Slims have + and - on both ends so they can go eitherway. Slims and reg eb gen3: which length? Have you checked the voltage in the datasheet? Have the the same diode count? My best guess is nope... Unless 2 x 2ft in series.

Datasheet is as follows

2ft strips

19.1v eb slim
19.1v eb

4ft strips

38.2V eb slim
38.3V eb

You can put 1 slim 2ft and another 2ft reg in seires and run them on a 39ish v driver as parallel strings.

You can try the 4ft ones at your own risk. I doubt anything would go badly as long as you limit amps properly.

1 footers reg and slim is big no-no iirc, the regs have 350mA nominal slim 700mA.

Ok I got my order in and scrapped the idea of running different gen of lights. I got some 90 CRI 4000K strips for a veg specific light and a driver for the 8 strips I had over. So, after a really busy minute, I'm ready to start building.

I need to know one thing about wiring, in particular, parallel series wiring the 2 ft strips to keep things neater.

I'm assuming I run the first strip series so the negatives can be run one side and the positives the other, and from there it's just parallel.

Is this right?

Ok I got my order in and scrapped the idea of running different gen of lights. I got some 90 CRI 4000K strips for a veg specific light and a driver for the 8 strips I had over. So, after a really busy minute, I'm ready to start building.

I need to know one thing about wiring, in particular, parallel series wiring the 2 ft strips to keep things neater.

I'm assuming I run the first strip series so the negatives can be run one side and the positives the other, and from there it's just parallel.

Is this right?
Photos? I use blux slims and they have + and - terminals on both ends. If you want to run 2 in series and then parallel its + -+ - and first + and last - are the ones that go to your parallel circuit

Well, I remember you saying if I get the 2ft strips to get the 42V driver anyway so I could run a series parallel connection and make things neater, so that's what I did.

I have no clue about wiring these things up but I'll get pictures now. Gimme a minute

Its easy, if you know basics of series and parallel. For series/parallel there must be youtube resources. Basicly series is a long string: driver + to first strip + and then out of - to next strip + and so on. You would do this with 2 strips, and it would work as a 4foot strip. Alrhough you could choose to have it double back as well, 2 strips wide.

Then you group all the first strip + connector together in a terminal block or a Wago connector. Same thing with - on the second strip.

Then the + side goes to + on driver, - side to - on driver.

I've watched a few youtube videos and multiple builds, but I can't find any specific wiring diagrams for my particular build.

What I'm trying to get my head around is the point at which it becomes 38V. I'll explain.

How does the voltage not continue to add up by going from negative to positive of each strip?'

It does. I think he means instead of making a 4' 38V "strip" from 2 2' strips. You can instead basically do the same thing but just side by side.

Cool. I understand.

I think it's because I haven't wired them up yet that I don't understand how this will make things neater. In my mind I'd then have two individual 2 ft strips connected in series, then I'd be wiring the rest as I would anyway.... So I've saved not much in the way of wagos or wiring etc. Correct me if I've got this wrong.

The difference is between having 5 or 10 wires going into one wago. Also, if you double back you can have + and - on the same side if you want that.

its like one of them movies where you have someone on the phone trying to explain which wire to cut to diffuse the bomb lol, but seriously a quick drawing of your intended wireing scheme would be good just to check over before you live anything up.
I allways say the same when someone wants to start a strip build: think thru and visualize the (massive amounts of ) cables.

Im on cutters 3 channel strips with no real way of saving on wiring by going series and it means 6 wires instead of 2 per strip, its a challenge..

I've bought 50 wagos. I'll type lol even though I don't find it funny

Ok, Have a look at this before I go any further

I've just watched a video of a greengenes series/parallel build which someone linked me. It's really helpful but I want to know why the jumpers are on all the strips after the first one?

Ok I'm a dumbass.... It's because we've got to double the voltage of every set of 2 strips... right? And THEN run them all parallel

Just clicked then while looking at it

So look at this next pic and tell me what options I have for wago 1 & 2.

If I run this way, must I then connect all negatives on the right side, all positives on the left side, and then connect + and - of joining strips?
