I sprayed again this morning, thanks for the heads up!
Well things aren't getting any easier. Two of the JS buds I dug out all the dead bud material now have a touch of mold in them. If I cant stop the mold I will have to chop the bud off.

Its been overcast until around 12 noon around here and there is dew in the AM but not alot. I turned the sprinklers off in that area so they dont get excessively wet. Maybe the climate isnt hot enough and too humid this year to grow dense, sticky buds. I dont know it could be only that one JS plant. Weekly Update tonight.

I turned the sprinklers almost off and I turned the plant so the affected buds were in the sun. I also cut out the dead parts. If it doesnt work I will have to cut the area out where there is mold so it doesnt spread. I probably should stick a fan out there for the night. We'll see what it looks like tomorrow.

A short Mold update: I had to cut the affected areas off on 2 of the buds since there was still mold there and I didnt want it to spread to the rest of the bud or buds. Oh well. I checked the trichs on the cut buds but they are mostly clear some amber as it is really not ready but it had to be done.

Anyway, the rest of the plants are doing fine. I have noticed that the JS 3 is not as flexable as the other 2 in that i have cracked 2 branches at the trunk which I have repaired (wired to the trunk. Oops:roll:. I have some nice pics of the WC pink/red pistals coming in. THe WC white pistals seems to be a week or so ahead of the red/pink ones or its just fatter, lol. All three of the WC are streching a little as they seem to have gotten taller, at least to me.

THe CC is still the big momma and is fattening up nicely. I cant wait for this one as it should be a goodie.

The WC clones are having a little strech too going into flower mode. New pistals are showing up everywhere. Hoping they densen up a bit.

The JS are ahead of the crowd and well into flower with dense sticky nugs. They are frickin hard!!! JS 1 still has mostly clear trichs (hated to chop some of her rotten buds:cry:) still as expected. She doesnt look ready yet either as there are still alot of white pistals out all over. Maybe they are be 9-11 week strains. The JS 2 is not far behind JS 1 (maybe 1-1.5 weeks in flower later) and is forming nice dense sticky nugs.

FDD was right on the HJ as it is tightening up nicely. It has also started pistal development and should produce some nice nugs.

Lastly but not at all the least, is JTR. She has been slowly converting to the flower mode. I havent seen alot of pistals yet but she is shortening up the nodal spacing and getting denser.

So thats it for this week. Bud porn in the next post tomorrow or tonight. Here are the pics for the Weekly Update:

Row 1: WC white pistals, JS 3, WC pink/red, CC, WC pink/red
Row 2: JS 1, WC clone, JS 1, CC, WC white
Row 3: JS3, WC white, JS 1, WC pink/red, WC pink/red
Row 4: WC pink/red, WC clone, JS 2, JTR, HJ

gt, It's a damn shame about the mold. You might want to consider getting the rest of that bud out of your garden though. Those mold spores are some kinda tiny and ya don't want them anywhere else. The rest is looking good.

just found my first caterpillar. it better mot be one of "those" years. it was a little tiny one one my green crack that is half flowered. looks like it's almost time to bring out the sprayer. i really need to find traps for the adults. the traps are species specific though and i have numerous species.

EDIT:

i just ordered one of these, ... http://www.treehelp.com/itemdesc.asp?ic=SS-GM12
and one of these, ... http://www.treehelp.com/itemdesc.asp?ic=SS-S1506

i'll start a thread when they arrive.

Excellent find FDD. I used a moth trap at my dads house because he had pantry moths. He doesnt have any more and those traps were loaded with the males.

Order up boys and girls. Along with biological control (caterpillar killer) this two edged approach should lessen the chance of bud munching caterpillars. The treehelp site is the best trap since it lasts all season and costs the same as ones that only last for several weeks. Another option is to buy bait strips and DYI the trap. You'll save around $6 if you feel handy (http://www.gypsymothalert.com/traps_homemade.html)

Here is what I cut off today. In retrospect I may have gotten away with just cutting out the bad part, but live and learn.

It's hanging now drying on the outside. I have it in a box with a fan circulating air on the outside, not directly on the buds.

Hey Hodge thx for stopping by. No mold on those just smashed and brown areas. I cut out all the moldy stuff which was minor but I couldnt take a chance it would spread. Those are just the tops of those buds. They would of been nice clubs if undamaged.

I cant believe its around 90-100 up there. Nice weather for the girls. Its been in the mid 70s here with overcast in the AM.

I think next wed update will be nice for the WC and HJ as they are starting to bulk up. Im going to get some Blackstrap molassas this weekend and start using it.

I am spraying mine on a weekly basis. The spinosad will take care of any caterpillars and the traps will help with the adult moths looking to lay eggs. Im gona hang a couple in my yard.
