now I understand about the ppm..... thanks for the clarification..... just tested my water here...... 73 TDS before anything being added 47 at the pump at the spout.... not bad so I am very happy the ph is 6.8 (perfect :) )......

Group photos are album worthy bud....... truly glorious lush growth that really puts me in a good mood.... I am very happy for you :D
THe main thing to measure is salt strength (NPK) in your water and knowing where your water is at is also important. Yours is almost as good as RO. Damn! Send me some of that water.

The higher the TDS or ppm of your water the higher the dissolved content. Since the meter only measures amount and not what, some people use electric conductivity (EC) to measure the salt content. Since NPK are salts there is a before adding ferts salt content and a after adding ferts salt content. The difference is your fert contribution to the total. If you have shity water like mine, and mine isnt the worst I've seen, then the TDS of my water is replacing TDS I could of added for the plants use. Essentially the 370 TDS of my water could be NPK if my water was RO. WHo knows what it is? Probably mostly Ca, Mg and other minerals.

So if you grow to the max for a strain you can gauge what strength ferts to add at given times of the grow (ramp up through grow, switch to flower at same ppm as you ended grow fert, and ramp down to finish). Watching the plants is the easiest but I try not to stress them by over fert.

Your water quality lesson for the week.

ok..... 1800 is high........ I feel belittled.....
Well 1800 (water plus nute ppm) - 370 (water ppm) = 1430 ppm (nute ppm)

1430 ppm is not so high is it? I started at 600 and did 200 ppm jumps to 1800 ppm or start at 600 -370 = 230 ppm and end at 1430 ppm. Now Im going back down with bloom nutes to 370 or just water and molassas or succinate, I havent decided.

As in orchids and weeds, each strain has its limits and if we learn those limits and grow to the max but not over, we will be rewarded with a bountiful harvest. I still would like to do clone/nute tests as this is the only way IMO you can get a representative comparison. That's why I stopped the GH vs Maxsea comparison since I didnt have enough clones to experiment.

The girls are thirsty these days. I will be watering more often while this heat keeps up.

THe JS 1 will be in week 6 of flower next week. I will be reducing the NPK again to this girl next feeding. The other 2 JS are at week 5 and week 4 this coming week. JS 2 seems to be the biggest of the JS'. Lets see who has the biggest buds and most weight.

I learned from FDD to space out your grow so you dont end up endlessly trimming. I bought 2 new pair of Fiskars today at HD for about $10 ea. Im ready.

The rest of the girls are doing some last minute streching but seem to be shortening the divisions and some are starting to form calyxs/buds. This is the fun part.

I was also looking at a USB microscope to show some real closeup bud porn. We'll see what I can get soon.

Exactly, :), but Im sorry, from reading a post you wrote I thought you meant you were going to start with a ppm of 1800 (-370 ppm)...... and then gradually increase..... I must have misread it. Your plants look great, and please do get the best pornmaking equipment possible, :)

Thx. I was out today with the girls and they are starting to blow up. The JS 3 continues to fatten up and has solid nugs on all branches and a central cola. JS 2 has an even fatter central cola and branches that are fattening up, but it is the shortest of the JS. The tallest JS, JS 2, is starting to harden up and fatten up still.

Chemo Cindy is really starting to branch and is going into the flower mode. It is the largest of all the strains being grown. This one may have some promise.

The Hijack is starting to form buds on all branch ends and central cola.

The Widow Cindy crosses (white and pink/red pistal) are branching and buding all over. These are the next biggest plants so they will be fun to watch. The WC clones are branched out little bushes as wide as they are tall, almost. I wonder how these will look when they get into full flower mode.

The JTR is going to be the last to flower. It has put on a last minute growth spurt and is starting to branch and shorten up the nodal spaces.

THe JTR and WC clones may require support (netting) but the others look strong unless those buds blow up a lot more.

I will get some AM pics tomorrow.

I smoked some Widow Cindy that was grown by JohnnyPotseed,
and it was very lemony...just lovely.

Are you feeding the outdoor/dirt grow ?
Why ?
Is your soil poor?
.

I am growing these in pots filled with a modified Supersoil by Subcool (see post 81 for ingredients). I started getting some yellowing of the fan leaves so I started using nutes once a week. I think they are growing nicely. You can see for yourself in todays Weekly Update.

Like I said in 2 posts back, I have several types of Cindy and widow cindy hybrids which are just starting to go into flower mode. I cant wait.

Here's the lineup for this week:

Row 1; JTR, CC, JS 3, WC, WC (red/pink pistals)
Row 2: JS 2 (spider), JS 2 (Spider), HJ, JS 2, WC (red/pink pistals)
Row 3: WC (clone), CC, JS 2, WC (white), CC
Row 4: WC (clone), WC (Red pistals),JS 1 cola, JS 3, WC (white)
Row 5: JS 3, JTR, Group

Sorry for all the pics. I got carried away.

I sent a lot of the WC beans out to growers
that promised to grow them and you are doing a great job.

Thanks for showing me what this strain will do.

I knew when I bread them
that they would really be a great outdoor strain.

I'm sure you will get over a pound from each one.
Outstanding !

THx Earl for the kind words. As mentioned in a previous post, the WC strain has several phenos, at least from what I have seen growing here.

There is the WC clone variety which has branches to the point its a bush and I cant even see to the center of those 2 plants. It is the smallest of the WC crosses but I think that may be because it was a clone?. Im waiting to see how it flowers to pass judgment so get ready.

The white and red/pink pistal WCs are similar and, you are right, have a lemony scent when rubed. Both are branching like crazy and starting to flower. Im hoping for fat colas but if that happens I may need branch support. It will be interesting to see what each one of the WC end product has in store.

Lastly, while not a WC, Chemocindy is the beast of the Cindy clan. It is in flower mode about a week or 2 ahead of the 3 WCs. The largest of the Cindys, this is a keeper, if I had to select one from a growth structure stand point. I hope the taste and high are similar to its growth habit.

I still think I can do better by starting veg sooner and planting in the ground with ammendments. I have grown bag seed the size of others peoples grows many years ago in this area so I know its possible here.

All this talk about buds has me in the mood for bud porn. Here is some bud porn for this week. Its only going to get better.

Row 1: All JS 1 except the last pic which is HJ
Row 2: HJ, JS2, JS 2, and the last 2 pics are my attempt at closeups of Pic 1 and 2 of Row 1. I know; they look the same. I will have more in my next weekly update.

I grew the chemocindy

you gots a dealsa..... pretty flowers..... would love to see the pink/red hair pheno ;)
I actually have two plants of that pheno with the red/pink pistals. All three of the WC look prety similar and when the stem or leaves are rubbed it smells lemony. It will be interesting to see what the final product tastes like and what the high is like.

Earl says others that have grown out the WC have liked it. Like i said earlier, I also have a ChemoCindy and 2 WC clones that are like bushes.

I finally got underneath the WC clones and the trunks are hugh, but after about 18"-2 ft it starts branching like crazy and becomes a bush. They are easily 1/2 the size of the other WC phenos so Im not sure what to expect. Too bad Edux isnt around to comment.
