Over the next few weeks I should be ready to harvest my seeds.
My Question to the thread is this...

During Growth Phase, we use 6500K lights.
Then During Flower, we change over to 2700K

What is the proper Kelvin required to grow seeds??? 2700k or 6500k?
-ALSO-
What Light cycle should you use?

Thanks for your expert input.

After a few responses, I'll include a few of my photos taken. To share where I'm at today.

Good info to go with! I am unable to use HPS, so my 2' x6 Fluorescents are doing a fine job in my tiny space. I have mine on a 12/12 cycle since the change over, and shall continue till harvest of the seeds.

As promised...
Note: The seeds growing in the MALE plant (aka Plant #2)? Right from infancy, Plant #2 showed Pistals! Just last week, seeds on Plant #2 were isolated to just the upper node. As of last week numerous nodes exploded into seed making!
I have researched that I should grow my seeds until the seed husks turn BROWN in colour (dying off, maturing the seed pods). Hypothetical as this is my first Seed Grow.

i haven't tried to grow my own seeds ( seeding a plant then harvesting the seeds and growing ) we are currently in the middle of seeding my first grow. it's my dads seed though as i stole his seeds to start so he can do w.e. the fk he wanted with the plant. he took the yield as well as it just makes sense. not sure how long the seeds have to go but they are turning brown.

im sure he is going to try and grow them but not entirely sure how it will turn out. i think it will hermie tbh. i gave him one of my plants from my current flowering grow which is a blue widow but i don't think those took to seeding. why do i think they will hermie? because if you seen his plants he doesn't take very good care of them. he has buds thats been ready for harvest almost a month ago thats just been outside drying to a crisp. he doesn't feed very often if at all. and his yields are worse then mine.

i don't mess with his plants and vice versa we just grow our own ways. eventually i plan to experiment with seeding but first i want to try out cloning. don't really have the patience to grow males either thats why i only buy fem seeds.

Well the way I see things, If you start off just letting the plants be plants, then you get to witness their whole life cycle. And by that, if you document everything as I do, then you will be able to duplicate your experiment in the future and come out with the same results.
Since your pods are browning up, then I can tell 2 things. Your plants are ready to be harvested, and you also planted your seeds BEFORE the middle of October, 2018!
How are your Tricomes doing? Are they too changing their colours to Amber?
I have also noticed that Male Plants also sport Tricomes too! They just focus on the seed pods until they are well developed, then they change over to Tricome production on their leaves.
I think I will write a book on my findings in greater detail once I've completed my seeds growth cycle.

Will be a best seller here in Canada!

it was planted around that time i believe. it was chopped off and lower half was used to seed for experiment. like i said it was my first grow and not my seeds so i don't mess with his plants all i do right now is grow and harvest. trichomes on that plant was extremely weak it was my first grow plus a full outdoor grow with 0 bloom nutes. my house recieves about 3-4 hours of direct sunlight per day. summer time maybe 4-6 max. i live in a 2 story house in the city and we also have a large garden but it length wise so it's skinny but it's not my garden so only have so much i can do outside it's just full of plants though. dead, diseased, etc..

i mean anything that go wrong he has had like 5 plants hermie already and quite a few males not sure what kind of seeds he bought or where. thus why i assume they will turn out hermie. it will be interesting to watch him grow them though i might take 1 for myself and grow it indoors.
