growing in the woods

Only possible place I can find to grow is heavily wooded. Is this worth the trouble? I'm growing for one person, a quarter pound would last me a year.

I grow in the woods, just look for the biggest opening in the canopy. Plant at the northern most edge of the opening this way come fall as the sun gets lower in the sky you can get every last bit of light you can.

A man's gotta do what a man's gotta do !
I planted in a wooded area years ago only to have a big dead limb That I hadn't noticed before I chose the spot fell from a storm and crushed most of my plants.....Take notice of what's above the spot you choose.
Good luck !

If there is light coming through then sure why not. But I will say without good light it will be stretchy and thin...a decent wind could snap it in half. Make sure you support it.

Aaaah growing in the woods is the best! Even if you end up giving away your bud. Take a beach chair and just sit in the spot you want
to grow in, maybe your iPad reader, or a good book to see if your plot gets enough sun, or where in the plot it gets enough sun, oh oh
don't forget your dog, he/she will have more fun than you.
Once you just sit there for a while you will hear the forest erupt with a cacophony of sound, and as you continue to listen it will begin
to sound like music, ah what a great way to grow.
Please what ever you do don't go cutting down any trees, you can trim them to allow light, which I have done, but chopping them
down is way bad karma.
Once my dawg and I sat so still just watching the weed grow that a small herd of dear walked right by us, it was so kool. You will
see all manner of birds, turkeys, deer, little animals, you will not ever want to leave. I recommend to everyone to grow outside, if
just for the fun of it, I guarantee you will become a great "steward of the land"
Well good luck brother, oh and depending where your live grow some ginseng as well.:bigjoint:

So shade grown weed results in a really small yield. Is it any good? If I start w quality seeds, will my small crop be worth having?

Way back I grew a decent sized plot in a spot that got zero minutes of direct sunlight, the plants stretched like a mofo, and the buds were loose and fluffy, but the smoke quality was good, tons of trichs and all.
If you just growing for you and the woods is you're only option then go for it

im sure if theres lots of trees you can find one that is either dead or has fallen over....or a spot where u can cut down some small ones (i dont recommend this option).

In other words..look harder.

One dead or fallen tree in a forest is going to give him like 10 mins of sunlight.

If you have someone you can partner up with you could put plants in trees.... The reason I say only if you have a partner is in case you fall out of a tree, you want someone there to help you out

Funny...it gives me hours of direct sunlight..Those root balls are huge, when the tree falls it makes a decent cleared area. I also use the root balls for cover, wind breaks, loose dirt..and to hang tarps from for water collection.

Dense in the valley's and clear's as you get higher on the ridges. Key is to find old growth forests with large trees. large trees make big gaps when they fall.

Just a matter of using google earth and ur boots.

On yea if you can find that golden big ass tree that falls and leaves a nice path for the sun to smash the plants all day, I see in my head if the tree falls a certain way it could line up a pretty good gap in the canopy. Gurrillagronomics right there, I'll keep that little gem of wisdom in mind

Large trees need lots of food. This prevents other things growing close to them. They essentially starve other growth around them. When the tree falls or even dies there is left a small clearing where it stood/standing.

If you jump on google earth of "your" forest..you will see the small clearings. This can save days of bush bashing.
