Growing all red question.

Growing in any water culture is like standing on the head of a pin. Far more people fail than succeed. That includes me!!

Analogy......
Occam's Razor.......

In a chemistry lab, it takes different chemicals and types of energy to perform different reactions.......
Physics is true for everything in this universe.

What would make you think that a plant is that much different than a chem lab?

Under red only spectrum ,some plants may thrive .(those which prefer way red wavelengths I.e . Sugar cane ) .
Some of the rest (the majority ) will just survive and show abnormal growth .Some will not survive at all .

Nasa did experiments with R/B light combos ,growing them COMPACT enough ,and STRESSED enough (so to be rich in nutrients i.e anthocyanins ).
<Most of plants NASA experimented with was leafy greens and root vegetables . Not flowering resinous plants .

Still if R/ B combo was adequate for growing healthy, vigorous and productive plants ,for the same Wattage (given also that leds are more efficient radiometrically than HIDs )with a HID light (HQI-MH-HPS-LPS-CMH ),leds should produce more ...
Which usually doesn't happen with R/B combos ....It's just not the case ,for most grows ....

Now....
You can still sit and write all sorts of BS ,that comes right down to your head or you've been reading here 'n' there .....
You can also ,try your thing ,without asking much of advice and opinions ,if you're so convinced that it will succeed ....
Either way ....
Better study a bit ...

Or at least show us ,some proof of your claims ...
For every of my claims ,I brought proofs along .
(Just for the record ....)

Tiny words added up ,makes just a mumbling noise ,my friend ....
Nothing more ...
A big word is spoken once and loud ....

I've already given enough time to you.

Anyway ..

Good Luck there with the red leds ..
You can try supplementing with some dinner candle lights, also ....

And I thought I came off as arrogant. Pff. I am open to the idea of being wrong, dude, you don't seem to be very open minded. Never the less your comments are welcome since I don't consider anyone a time waste. Here lets bow to you now. Its bow to stardust time. If I didn't approach every topic as skeptical as I do I would not have a thread that's full of information....so.... guess what...... WINNING.

Whered you come up with this bullshit? lol, "Tiny words added up" <--thats a sentence of "tiny" words....stop mumbling? Here --> horticulturalistic...am I in the big word club now?

Starbuster you could never be a lawyer, instead of sticking to the script and arguing your case ()like you should) you'd be like "Why are you arguing with me, just accept that I am right and you are wrong" The judge would be like wtf? You also said it was hard to cool a 10watt led. That alone is reason enough to cause skepticism.

Really? All the threads that I have read suggested other wise. Where is the challenge outside of the understanding of how it works? And please don't snap on me like Starbuster. I'm just asking.

I dunno I guess I am thrill seeker or something.....shit I grew mushrooms on the first try........I also did my own agar culturing successfully....on the first try. growing mushrooms and hydro/aeroponics seemed similar to me so I just guessed it would be easy for me. Key word starbuster "guessed".

All red during veg will stunt growth, force hermies and males. Making the plant think its fall. In flower it will stretch like crazy. Low potency due to no or low terpene production from lack of blue photons. lower photon absorption without green.

P.s. Bass travels more than treble. It creates a much more vibration. Why do you think every sound studio has bass traps. Treble seems louder due to the Munson Effect aka the loud button. Bringing lower frequencies up to match the higher frequencies.

Ive been an audio engineer / producer for years. I have an audio / video engineer associates degree and state certified. I work in mixing, recording and post production. Seldomly do mastering.

You could survive eating nothing but granola bars for a while, but would you be healthy? No.

While red and blue are the "most important" spectrums for vegetative growth and flowering, the plants utilize many other wavelengths of light, visible and otherwise, to produce desirable chemical compounds. Just as a well rounded diet makes for a healthy animal, a well rounded spectrum makes for happy, healthy plants. I don't advise growing with only one wavelength of light.
