Under red only spectrum ,some plants may thrive .(those which prefer way red wavelengths I.e . Sugar cane ) .
Some of the rest (the majority ) will just survive and show abnormal growth .Some will not survive at all .
Nasa did experiments with R/B light combos ,growing them COMPACT enough ,and STRESSED enough (so to be rich in nutrients i.e anthocyanins ).
<Most of plants NASA experimented with was leafy greens and root vegetables . Not flowering resinous plants .
Still if R/ B combo was adequate for growing healthy, vigorous and productive plants ,for the same Wattage (given also that leds are more efficient radiometrically than HIDs )with a HID light (HQI-MH-HPS-LPS-CMH ),leds should produce more ...
Which usually doesn't happen with R/B combos ....It's just not the case ,for most grows ....
Now....
You can still sit and write all sorts of BS ,that comes right down to your head or you've been reading here 'n' there .....
You can also ,try your thing ,without asking much of advice and opinions ,if you're so convinced that it will succeed ....
Either way ....
Better study a bit ...
Or at least show us ,some proof of your claims ...
For every of my claims ,I brought proofs along .
(Just for the record ....)
Tiny words added up ,makes just a mumbling noise ,my friend ....
Nothing more ...
A big word is spoken once and loud ....
I've already given enough time to you.
Anyway ..
Good Luck there with the red leds ..
You can try supplementing with some dinner candle lights, also ....
