Grow tent air intake

Does a carbon filter stop co2 from coming into the tent? I’ve seen mixed opinions on this and would like to have more opinions before I make a discussion. I was looking at something like this

"In this research, we chose as a precursor material for the preparation of activated carbons African palm shells (Elaeis guineensis), a solid residue resulting from processing of the fruit. The African palm shell is a lignocellulosic precursor suitable for the preparation of activated carbon because it has a carbon content of around 60% and is considered an economic and profitable raw material."

"The adsorption of CO2 in the materials prepared presented values between 103 and 217 mg CO2 g–1; the values of volume of narrow microporosity obtained were between 0.16 and 0.45 cm3 g–1. The solid with the greatest capacity for adsorption of CO2 and volume of narrow microporosity was ACCu3-1073."

  • Cannot remove particle pollution. Carbon air filters remove many organic compounds from the air, but as mentioned above, they cannot address particulate pollutants. These particles may include allergens like dust and pollen, or even those from secondhand or wildfire smoke–the latter of which can be especially dangerous in the near term.

IMO there's not much of a point in having a carbon filter on the intake, usually the carbon filter is used to exhaust from inside the tent or room to get rid of the smell. If you want to filter your I take for particulates I'd just go with a hepa air filter or the like.

I just use a Merv 6 furnace filter. Blocks all the junk and pollen, spores etc. Just made a box and put an inline fan in the back hooked to venting that goes into tent.

I agree it’s not so much the carbon that I’m looking for. The room where my tent it in is a lived in room so I need a intake that’s not only effective but 100 percent light proof as well. I know I could do the s shape bend in the ducting but as I said it’s a lived it room so I want something clean looking.

If your going for a clean look you can check out photography dark room intake vent covers. Some can get pretty pricey. That make square to round duct conversions if you wanted to push up a square intake cover up against a round intake.
