IMO there's not much of a point in having a carbon filter on the intake, usually the carbon filter is used to exhaust from inside the tent or room to get rid of the smell. If you want to filter your I take for particulates I'd just go with a hepa air filter or the like.

I just use a Merv 6 furnace filter. Blocks all the junk and pollen, spores etc. Just made a box and put an inline fan in the back hooked to venting that goes into tent.

I agree it’s not so much the carbon that I’m looking for. The room where my tent it in is a lived in room so I need a intake that’s not only effective but 100 percent light proof as well. I know I could do the s shape bend in the ducting but as I said it’s a lived it room so I want something clean looking.

If your going for a clean look you can check out photography dark room intake vent covers. Some can get pretty pricey. That make square to round duct conversions if you wanted to push up a square intake cover up against a round intake.
