Grow Room HVAC

I have a 20x20 room in my house.

The plan is to put 3 Mars Hydro 5x5 tents with the 3000 LED lights.
The tents will be sealed.

My house is fairly new and well insulated. I plan to seal the door with copper flange and the two small windows with caulk.

I live on the Gulf Coast.

I am looking at a 36000 BTU Mr. Cool split to cool the room.

Does anyone have any experience with anything like this they can share?

TIA.

I use 4 x gavita 1700e which are higher wattage and a 24000 btu Samsung split. Never had an issue.

How do you plan to cool inside the tents if they are sealed?
What are you doing for it? Are you growing in tents?
I would think cooling the room to a very low temp, like 50ish, would cool the tents.
But I do not know. Hence my post.

I run two hlg 650 rspec, 3600 watts of barinna light bars, and a tacklife 8000 btu portable ac and have no issues your highest load usage is when evrything turns on. After that initial start up evrything drops down. Example a motor that uses 20 amps prolly runs on around 12 to 14 but pulls 19 to 20 when it first starts up same with lights and a/c you have initial spike and then levels off just make sure to split up your stuff so not all on The same circuit

That 3-ton mini-split A/C will allow you to hang meat in that 20x20 room. I have a 15x20 room with 9' ceilings and a 2-ton. Commercial chiller, 1k LED, pumps, fans, dehumidifier, etc... cool as a cucumber. I'd research Mr. Cool, a lot of bad reviews. The HVAC company that installed the A/C for my home ONLY uses Gree mini-splits. I purchased it on line and they did the install.

Great info, and I'll look into Gree. Mr Cool stays backordered anyway.

Mine is a single 20x8 room that is framed. I think you would have a very hard time dialing in the temperatures inside your tents especially if each tent was at different stages. Unless you wanted to overcool the outside and add heat in each tent.

I'm hoping to find a split that has an API I can control it with. Anyone?

I have 2 mr cool 3 ton units and another cheap 3 ton unit. I like the mr cool units. My oldest one is two years old and it’s been cooling between 6-7 thousand watts of lights in a sealed room the whole time.

I’ve paid for name brand units and the installation, to me it’s not worth double the price of the diy units.

Even though mini splits have inverter compressors they do have like a minimal cooling load. I’ve never had an issue with the mr cool unit but my other cheap 3 ton unit doesn’t hold temps very well if there isn’t much wattage running.

I’d prob still go with the 3 ton but only because if I had a 20x20 room I know it would eventually be full of lights, lol.
