Grow light height and switching to flower

Questions about LED grow light height & switching to flower

Hi i have three questions!

1. I have a 650W LED grow light from Meijiu. The light fixture physically covers the whole tent (tent is 1.2m x 1.2m, light fixture is 1.1m x 1.0m). Instead of increaseing the height of the light, can I leave the light close to the plants and decrease its power? Wouldn’t this achieve the same effect as increasing the height while using less energy?
2. Same strain 9 plants in a 4x4. I’m thinking I should veg until the canopy fills out the whole tent, and then switch to flower. Is this too late? In flower, plants grow mostly vertically and not horizontally, correct?
3. Will the plant in the middle receive more light compared to other 8 plants in the corners? Then, is it safe to assume that the plant in the middle will most likely yield the most, not because of its phenotype?

Have you grown cannabis before?

I would keep the light 14" above the canopy at all times more power in flowering.
If it is a photo plant you can keep it in veg as long as you like. When you are ready for flowering
then flip to 12/12 and get ready for the stretch and flower stage.
Keep it simple don't over think it good luck with your grow.

I second Thodoph's recommendation to raise it higher and up the power. You'll get better coverage and you won't have to worry about light burn.
