I'm interested to know too:).
I'm working on about a .6g/w avg. using cfls....it's hard to avg. because I have a semi-perpetual grow using 40-23w bulbs and I don't use all the bulbs all the time...but my best has been a 6.5oz plant under 16-23w cfls.

I feel like anything over half gram per watt with cfls is doing good.......a gram per watt with cfls:shock:....I'd like to give it a try;), I've just never really dedicated my time or space to getting the most out of it(g/w).I'm still a newbie,2.5yr grower,so I'm just happy to have kept a perpetual going this long...lol.

Yh been into about the same time mate.
I did a main-line at 94g with a single 125w lol that was in cheap fookin soil. Since i moved to coco ive more than doubled my yield.

Im gonna start perpetual next year it seems nice and steady roll out lol

Light penetration is a major issue, because the bigger the plant is less light penetrates through and to the bottom....besides we all know cfls are notorious for fluffy buds...not saying good dense nuggetry can't be produced...it just takes the right strain, keeping your lights close ,keeping temps under 80:)...and yeah i'm sure with a good scrog and a long veg,a gram per watt with cfls can be done

Wanna make worth wait sog 1 plant grow the plant about 3 feet by 3 make bushy lolipop it and flower be prepaired to grow hydro quality hps bud.(need about 400 cfl watts for this)

To get one gram per watt, you'd have to make sure SO many factors line up into place (expensive), that it would defeat the purpose of using CFL lighting. It would then be more efficient and cost-effective at that point, to use HPS, Metal Halides, etc.

I hate to say this but plants grow right in the desert where its sometimes100+ for several days I don't seem to know why you think bigger420 that you have to keep your temps below 80 to grow pot.

and to clarify what im saying is bud will still grow haven't seen any proof that a plant flowering with temps below 80 does any better then one that is hotter. maybe if your plants where at say 60-90 all day that would be bad but I still haven't seen any proof

Dude don't post so late at night, you make absolutely no sense at all.
Gram per watt bro.....Gram per watt!

420newbieg,..everything must be right,temps below 80,humidity,lights,nutes,STRAIN.

And to clarify, no one growing marijuana in the desert is getting a gram per watt...and my closet stays between 60-90 at all times;).peace

dude anyone can post whenever they want some ppl the time is earlier 3 hours diff don't be all sour because your wrong stating that u need temps below 80 to get good bud or rather good yield there is no proof of it and you stated to everyone that your grow temps are between 60-90 so how is that your temps are below 80 and your getting great plants unless u ment that at nigh they go down to 60

For your information temps below 66 breeding grounds for botrytis so if your temps are going below 65 and your humidity above 50% you must have a lot of bud rot I don't really see how you would get a gram per watt doing that. im simply stating that pot grows wild in the 100+ desert with hardly any water huge buds and im not talking about ditch weed.

I have 2 an indica and a sativa variety going and the buds are hard as a rock on both plants no airy bud. some strains if ya prune off all of the fan leaves during the 4th week of flowering the canopy opens up and more light goes to the buds and you can get more out of it sometimes its s simple as just pruning off a couple leaves from blocking bud sites.

I would have gotten a lot more had I not used mg soil and burnt em

@Easty.. the runt 1 aint doin too bad at the mo mate but the 1 i put all the effert into has started maturing too early lol (5 weeks swollen calax's deep as fook orange hairs) but only on the top half inch..

bit pissed cos i needed a decent havest man but thats the break eh lol

so i may still be looking at 3 or 4 off the runt but the i was expectin 5 plus off i think i'll be lucky to pull 2 off her.....
she smells fookin awsome too mate just like lockets (menthol eucalyptus sweets)

my pull date is the 22nd of next month so we'll see how much weight they gain.... but i dont think im gonna see any vertical stacking on that 1 unless she foxtails!!!!

Some good wisdom and insight ^ Though it can be done, as mentioned, you just have to be "that into it" to make it happen.

Doing some quick numbers, at around 10 oz total (280g), from using on average 650 watts (I changed the amount of lighting consistently, so my best say would be that), my yield in gram per watt was 0.43 - this is the gram per watt of my first grow, where the environment (grow area and whole course of grow) were not being taken care of in the best possible way. You know what I mean? I'm talking about proper air exchange, cO2 supplementing, consistent temperatures and humidity, a dehumidifier for when it was raining, all of the stuff we can do for our cultivation space. All this stuff I improved upon as I went along, but was not necessarily established the best when I initially started.

So I am sure a higher gpw is possible, and I am confident it has been attained, I most likely just have not found the posts and threads about it.

yes im learning too lost of things that you can do to screw up what could have been a perfect yeild. alot of ppl think that oon there first time out there gonna harvest 5g$$ worth of weed off a couple plants and they find out they got maybe a oz off 4 plants plus time and some amount of $$ into it
