Good way to black out a window?

Hello again,
I am looking to black out my window and am looking for suggestions. I want non-permanent solutions. From what I have seem online the best has been aluminum foil. I would like something that doesn't stick out like a soar thumb if possible.

Kinda sloppy but works really well, i just tacked up a couple dark bath towels behind the blinds, reinforced with the white tape. The tack holes are easy to fill & repainting the peeled away tape areas is also easy. From outside, it just looks like shut blinds.

I used this frosted glass spray for a bathroom window, works well. They also sell tint spray. Never tried the tint but the Frosted glass scraps off easily

Walmart ( walfart ) sells black out curtains.
You don’t need all the rods and other shit - you can just tack it up.

I use panda paper. The black and white plastic sheets, I make my tent out of. I use staples because those holes are very easy to cover.

Two pieced of corrugated cardboard fairly thick if its thin just try it and use three layers. Cut it to fit the window and then duct take or small staples.

Walmart has thick rolls of plastic guessing 3/4ft wide and 25 feet long for laying down to cover carpets for painting walls. good ole duck tape it around the window over curtains. windows and under a grow area under saucers to catch any water mess ups.

Just buy some cheap black out curtains stick them in the window for a normal look then put up a piece of cardboard ontop of them taping around the window frame for another layer the curtains will look normal from the outside and provide a good light block then the cardboard will just do and even better job if you fully seal it around the window jam

I have black contractor bags taped up covering the entire window. Cardboard covers the side flaps on the window AC.

If you are cashed strapped - grab a box of thick ass contractor trash bags / slice to open up / tack around window.

I have done this gorilla taped around window then used blackout curtains - worked like a charm.

Yeah until it was time to pull the gorilla tape off that shit will peel the sheetrock paper right off along with the paint! Lol

The thing about panda paper is its white on the other side. So u see black, but anyone outside it looks like a white room, ceiling or curtain to.

Thumbtacks and garbage bags, posters too

Large flat screen TVs are pretty cheap these days.. Same with small ceiling projectors and screens. Just sayin'..

Why cover up the interior of a window with $20 worth of plastic film to look at all the time, when you can snag a used flat screen or 3 off craigslist for a little more to use instead?

Then you can pretend like your still looking out of your NEW window (you could even glue trim over the screens to look like real frames with glass panes), at that nice new relaxing waterfall you installed in your new backyard, minus the neighbors! They make programs to emulate "windows" btw.

Besides that, the TV or whatever will probably insulate from thermal losses (better than a layer of film?) that would normally happen through most kinds of window walls.. Maybe enough to make up for the energy needed to run it, who knows? lol..





Like this, but covering an existing window instead. Maybe the TV/s will stuff right in with minimal work, and just fill the gaps? Or find one that covers over the whole window?
